yes, you sometimes have signals during the morning but they are way less reliable is my conclusion unless you go to the higher timeframes.
BTW I do think we are in a bottoming phase here and I will take a longer term position soon which I will not daytrade around ...

Hi manosk,
How I view this is as follows:
This is a counter trend trade;
a trade against the downward trend.
[For me it's a Wave iv correction.]
It was always going to be bumpy and choppy
[expect zigzags, double zigzags and complex correction patterns].
As we know, corrections can take a long time to not go very far.
Many traders try to guess the outcome throughout the chop.
They take a position only to be stopped out.
[Been there and done that!]
However, the minor waves can be traded on shorter time frames [scalped],
or, a lot of patience and time is required for the counter trend trade to reach its target.
'The trend is your friend', is really saying counter trends are not!

Very true, that is why I was also asking for the specific strategy.

Actually I see cvds16 statement "obviously not going up at this moment: short @ 1261.25" way less harmful than numerous calls for long that I read in this thread during last two weeks.

Happy stop loss at 1253.50 is still holding, hoping for [ C ] ( iv ) just above 1277.85

stop loss hit: breakeven

i am still gold bullish, think the problem was with placing of stop loss to soon to prevent loss. looking back a small loss would have been better than break even, but i have a rule that i do not move stop loss, so going to wait for 1277 - 1280 and when i go long usdjpy then short gold
