Hi guys,

Just thought it befitting to setup a forum where we can discuss and post about other Gold crosses that may or may not be forgotten

Main focus will be on the XAUEUR cross but not limited to it. The XAUUSD cross has some great moves too. But brokers spreads on it a little high so I rarely trade it but still keep monitoring the moves.....

Let's get the discussion rolling!

First buy order on the cards for this pair is at :
1248.40
SL slightly below 1240.

So long as we stay below the 1253, buy orders from a lower point as per above should get filled.

Trade safe

Good idea MzansiObi. I have access to Gold/EUR via my contest demo. I just placed a short position at 1254. I've have a stop at 1256. Target is 1252.

Yeah bud, I see some bearish divergence creeping in.....hopefully you sellers let it drop enough to get my long orders filled..... If I were to sell I'd get in on 1260.6 looking at what seems to be a range in four hourly......

Did you get stopped out or you managed to get some pip gain on your short?

I got stopped. But I opened three positions and took some profit off the table on two of them. Winded up with a small loss overall. How'd you do?

Very interesting thread MzansiObi! In your experience, how well do XAU/EUR and XAU/AUD respect support and resistance?

In essence, they are correlated with the USD cross.

Just enjoy the volatility and swings during the Asian session. And around news releases focusing on the EUR or AuD curremcies.....

Will be worth keeping an eye on XAU/AUD later with the data release....

It helps banking some in the greater scheme of things doesn't it. Good thing you banked. I'm still flat on this cross.

Pending buy didn't get filled will look to sell from higher up now.....1260/61

I'm with you now. I'm looking for an entry to go short.

If it can't break 1258, time to go short IMO.

I'm on a demo and going for it. Shorted right when it failed to break 1258. Target 1256 but could take profit earlier. Tight stop at 1260.

XAUEUR

  1. still range bound on hourly chart.

  1. But am noting a bit of a potential bear flag or rising wedge froming on the 4hourly....so while RSI still pointing up, am thinking we could see price push up to the upper band of the wedge where RSi gets into that overbought territory and look to get short orders filled and see a retest of the lower band or break out,of course if it keeps tracking higher and closes outside that band will revise.

  1. The daily chart RSI is pointing lower and that bearish banger candle is signal that sellers are interested in those levels...hence the patience.....all on all will wait to track higher and pull the hammer....no rush.....

Good call. I'm looking at a possible short entry. It's looking bearish.

UPDATE: took a short position. A small one. Tight stop and will probably take profit unless I see it going to his my target at 1250. Conservative trade.

Got stopped out but re-entered short here at 1253.6. Tight stop at 1255.5 and I'll let it run to about 1251.5. Make back some of those losses earlier.

What a day for gold. Luckily I had car problems and was away from the PC. The spread on the Gold/EUR is tough. I just went long. I'm thinking it's going to breakout and hit some new highs.

Yeah bud.....what a day for Gold.....
Truly has just rallied for a bit.. but remaining composed and collected......did have some major DD but am just a couple of pips away from my initial entry point.

We need to tree carefully. Longer time frames more esp daily, still hinting at bearish divergence.....so will keep/remain patient

I actually did alright trading Gold/EUR. It was the Gold/USD that blew up my demo. I didn't have any live positions in gold or any metals and don't plan to this week. I'm long the USD up until the FOMC rate expectations change. I see upside potential capped for gold, which makes it tough given it's trying to breakout to new highs. I wouldn't be shorting it but my USD position contradicts going long. Very tough market. When I don't know what to do, I do what I do best. Nothing.
