    The September 2025 FOMC meeting will conclude on Wednesday, September 16 at 2:00 ET. Fed Chairman Powell’s press conference will begin at 2:30 ET. As of writing, Fed Funds futures traders are pricing in 96% odds of a 25bps interest rate cut per CME FedWatch (with an outside chance of a 50bps “double” rate cut). Assuming the Federal Reserve cuts interest rates by 25bps as expected, the market’s focus will immediately shift to the central bank’s Monetary Policy Statement, Summary of Economic Projections and Fed Chairman Powell’s Press Conference for potential market-moving changes. Everything sucks, because the purchasing power of the currency sucks. So no, rate cut isn't the way forward. It will only cause even more loss of the purchasing power of the USD. There's no way on Earth that you can stop the inflation tsunami that has been released with a measly 4% rates.

IT DOESN'T TAKE A FUC'ING GENIUS TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE FED SHOULD BE HIKING RATES. EVERYTHING IS IN ENORMOUS BUBBLE THAT NEEDS TO BE DEFLATED.

25bps rate cut is only prolonging the suffering as everything will continue to appreciate/USD will continue to lose purchasing power. Every rate cut will lead to less and less demand for the USD. HOLY SHIT HOW FUC'ING STUPID ARE THESE CLOWNS AT THE FED?

Fed (corrupt institution serving the rich) should be abolished immediately, before they do even more damage to the economy and the US dollar. Fed officials should be in unemployment number!

Hard data is all over the place. Hence a hard one to read for the average chump like myself.

Doubt it will be any different inside those fed walls (and minds) as they cast votes.

I think a policy shift + 25bps is a given. That will be enough for markets to chew on, for now.

Powell may well have a deciding vote on this one, interesting, oh yes indeed.

Vote will probably be for 25bps (dems) vs an outrageous 50bps +++ (160-180 less Bessent wants, remember).

Which will put immense pressure on Powell if he goes 25. Popcorn supplies are well STOCKED.

Um, maybe you should have covered your losing trades like an intelligent person rather than having a complete mental breakdown on a random website.

To suggest the Fed should raise rates with the jobs market falling apart and inflation below 3 percent is more than ludicrous, it’s just stupid. No one knows how many jobs ai with destroy, it’s too early to tell, but all signs so far point to a deflationary spiral as more jobs disappear forever.

Only logical choice is cut by 25 today then wait for more data.

You mean reduction of 25bps, but okay we get it. This ponzi system is intentionally designed this way so the average folks cannot wrap their head around it. That allows this rotten system to continue functioning for the rich that are stealing the wealth from the poor for decades. Gold and silver. Gold and silver mining stocks. The rest is irrelevant. One can still make some money in the crypto though and then use that cash to acquire gold and silver.

I'm not a trader. Okay, the Fed will cut rates. Let's see where the cutting cycle leads us... so far, rate cuts have done nothing good nor will they going forward. Rate cuts will only exacerbate the already big problem. This isn't 2008. when the Fed actually didn't have to fight against high inflation. This is totally different, because rates of 5% that worked for a period of slightly higher inflation during 2000s won't work for this scenario of very high inflation. Fed should have and still should hike rates well north of 10%. Exactly what Volcker would do (he also wouldn't print like an idiot and cause high inflation in the first place), and exactly what Powell won't do, because he's a lawyer and doesn't understand his job.

If you were any smart, you would know that the currency crash has caused all of the small bussiness to go out you IMBECI' OF THE HIGHEST ORDER! What the Fed is currently doing is destroying said small bussiness by continue to destroy the USD. The fact that you think you are smart tells me you will never understand what I'm saying. To have a strong economy you need a strong currency! DO YOU FUC'ING UNDERSTAND THAT? Go and apply for a job at the Fed, because you're as equally as worthless.
