could just be that chances of rate cuts in september seem now very far removed + I had technical signs both in gold/silver and oil allready on friday ... I managed to overlook those in precious metals ... the bombing only came later ...

Both Gld and Slv are forming cup and handle so this could be the break out. Hard to say though with so many false breakouts over the week.

XAUUSD 8H Chart:
[8H has turned with a nice strong Close]
We have a Corrective Structure with a Higher Low above the Sep. 01 Low.
Edit: This could be the Low.

Looks like a DLY turn to me!
Next question: How high can it go?
Expecting an Impulse Wave for sure!

Your wave iv is now in play to confirm TL breakout and support confirmation.. Looks good for the short term..

This all doesn't look so great anymore to me, this move up might be just perfect to take us below the august lows ... the lack of continuation of the last hours speaks books to me and I am not liking my indicators either ... I missed part of this move up but I am not going to miss the train down again ...

Not necessarily. The fact that it is lingering around the top of the range may mean the shorts are not touching it, but its hard to say because it is Sunday night. We will know at the start of the US session I think this morning.

what can I say .... you technical read is rather weak while you keep on giving reasons that got nothing to do with it ... sorry to say so ...
if this stays around this price for another two hours it's a done deal for a big down move ...

Besides, the markets are "all" in low volume mode for the week's news!! Nothing unexpected here!!!

Ran it through the HEW Spreadsheet:
Wave iv [if complete] was probably a little too deep,
to comply strictly with alternation with wave ii.
Wave v projection [if wave iv complete] ~1320

Edit: Should add that I am Long for at least a $100+ move,
and will add to position as it progresses.

Would then expect a deep correction.

well.. to me at least, testing 1308 will still keep my long valid.. and it would be my wave B I will then expect wave C to take me deep in the money!

Not happy with the alternation on the previous 1H Chart.
Indicates something is not correct.
This one looks better.

XAUUSD 1H Chart:
MAs are indicating it's turned up again.
This count would give us an Impulsive wave iii from the wave ii Low.
Targeting minimum 1333.8
[176.4% projection of wave i, if wave ii complete].
