Overall still bear market since middle of 2011. Have to break that trendline witch is on 1361 but i highly doubt that. May be after FED.

for a trading position this is still a short for me untill proven otherwise ... let's see how the week goes ...

depends on your perspective ,I guess theres no momentum to think long ?current weekly trend = up
longer term , i put the target 1500 before the low or even 1200 below there is weekly trend down to get to there you have to cut through that 3 month consolidation below
maybe that yearly tweezer means nothing or the big bear never confirming means nothing

Many ways to determine trend. No way is wrong, just depends upon what works for you.
I like the simple HH, HL, etc.... :-)

Currently have HH & HL so uptrend.

Which makes perfect sense ... if you enter and exit Gold trades on a weekly only chart or at least a daily chart.

I notice that the last time you posted in this topic was over 6 months ago. Curious do you have trades that last that long?

you can not trust that tl yet ,its not confirmed at all over a long distance of no touches

I was just giving my view of the long-term trend. Had nothing to do with my positions.

***I have futures positions(not in PMs) in my account that I've been holding for over 2 years so "yes", I do hold for long periods of time. Currently been holding PM positions for about 4-6 months. Most are options.

yea but he dose not have to ,to spend time on larger TFs is not pointless should you trade less TF

Might be a matter of opinion but I think of that as investing.

Otherwise with trading the timeframe that matters is the one that one is trading in - and a level higher for guidance.

And so obviously those who are continuously mentioning here - entered long, entered short - are not looking at weekly charts if their trades lasts minutes to hours.

look at a quarterly chart or a 6month chart with some indicicatos on and there won't be any doubt lef in your mind that this is a healthy bull market. However in the context of hours/days this is a short to me. So waiting to see that reverse and getting out at the first sign of 'long trouble' on the sub-daily timeframes = 6H or 8H or 12H.

maybe going forward your be glad I posted a very high tf chart , you see a super reversal just sub 1300 maybe 200 under ,
maybe thats a weekly flag that breaks with conviction eventually to the top side ,or bounces off bottom as Ive suggested
your already be aware thats very likely be a runner ,thats what top down is ,its about having conviction thats got substance

my conviction is high ,because I've worked on higher tf ,I know market will push me to the limit ,but I wont change my mind
till it dose something different
id call it trading with a solid edge
