gold looks like its consolidating in a triangle shape after the last up move and looks bullish

it started getting bullish and may fly. but i have placed my short at 1245 level. with stop loss around 1249

At the very least it will probably test the resistance at 1.1250, but I'm not sure it will break above that level today.

One thing that keeps my hopes alive is the obvious setup for long. It's TOO obvious to take it.

Market wants to tell us - "jump in, triangle broken, go all the way!".

Thinking in the terms of - "If I was a MM, what would I do to take retailers money?" I would probably tempt with certainty then crash and burn.

This is my view.

Agreed I had the same trade early Asian session and got out bit profit as gold refused to go down like normal when the dollar index was pushing up, usdjpy was rallying , very bullish sign , doesn't want go down and consolidated near the top of the channel.. I would get out if your short

Im long with SL at 1239. If it breaks up it could go far so removed all my sell limits at 1249.

From the logical point of view, you are absolutely right. But being on the market almost every freaking day for the last 6 years taught me one thing.

I have the same kind of sel limit in place @ 1245.32 to be precise, hoping a bearish move from the resistance line of the triangle ! Will NFP influence the market later today ????
