Whenever you get the "feeling" the downtrend has ended because of a few rally days, take a look @ the monthly chart to see the bigger picture.

Hi all, I figured I would take a hiatus from posting for a bit. Current daily conditions for me may allow some posts during the day.

Gold has been less than thrilling to trade lately but nonetheless it is gold. So we trade it.

Certain downtrend in flow, which has already corrected into the 1050 area (my numbers are rounded) breaking an IMPORTANT support in the 1080 zone.

At this rate I would not be surprised to see a test of 1000 and possible breach. If it looks that way we can discuss figures after.

I wanted to answer a PM in the forum. Any one else feel free to chime in.

1. What is the average spike on Gold during NFP or FOMC and maximum spread at the sametime?

That is tough to say, spikes during this session can be as large as a 50 to 100USD move, lately I would say much much lower,
perhaps around 30 to 50 at most.

2. Do you have any advise on trading Gold, like strategy?

Sure, there is a lot posted in this thread. It depends on what kind of trader you are and what time frame you are looking at. Please inform.

3. Does Gold has high slippage during NFP or FOMC/

With most crappy brokers I would say definitely. Even with a decent broker there will be some slippage. These are high volume times to trade with prices and orders
flying all over the place.

IF YOU are NEW to trading GOLD those are the LAST times I would be looking to trade. You will likely lose your shirt.

Nice simple chart.
Look at the flip and then consistent rejection when your moving average is tested.

Down trend intact as of now. May consolidate around 1000, yet if broken, will definitely test lower into the high hundreds.
but we will get there if and when we do.

Maybe. Maybe not. Eventually probabilities will catch up with it and likely send it lower. Then lower some more.

another metal bear here.....xag should go down to around 13.60 then recover a bit to keep the bulls happy and then we will see a 12 as leading digits

Gold made an engulfing and retest on weekly chart last two week as we can see.

On Daily and H4 chart, we can see a MACD Divergence and strong break of down trend line.

This shows market maker are wiping out the weak long of gold position.

In my opinion, FED will turn out to be a dud, gold and silver will fly up. Gold will be at 1130-1150 level after the FOMC.

The Gold is in the Stop Hunting period. After the price of the Gold breaks through the lowest point - the support level => the price will increase steadily and fast until it touches 1127 level.
