I have the same resistance as you, but from a 30M chart, where the 1283-1284 was tested 3 times already.

Will you be following the NFP?

Yeh just closed my long on intraday TF at 1292 and opened short looking to hold on the Daily TF back down to 1180. Agreed, 1272 I have as next resistance level but will probably plough through if good NFP.
Downtrend still intact even though price has been ranging between 1420 and 1180 on weekly chart, waiting for direction longer term.
I see no real fundamental reason to be buying up Gold at this point, IMO even a miserable NFP number would provide more sell opportunity in coming days for me.
Happy to be proven wrong and just follow what is happening on the chart though.

resistance on H1 and the candlestick pattern. need to hold the resistance, M15 M30 has a lot of buying !

Hello All,

I am a bit confused here as to why is Gold going up even before the news hasn't come? Is it they want all the shorts to get stopped out around 1302-4 and then come down all the way to 1272-74 area?

The failure to go lower at 1285 is more of a confirmation that market wants to push higher to collect large short orders and stop out people already Short in the market. May not even reach 1305 and turn short at 1298 before it breaks H1 highs.

Any strong price break above 1293 then 1298, im a firm buyer to 1305 and onwards as this will create new H4 highs, as a correction.

I hope we go UP only in an UPtrend

crossing and back SMA128(!) on Daily timeframe (SteelBlue line)
crossing SMA2048 on M5 timeframe (deeppink line)
crossing SMA1024 on M90 timeframe (Brown line) - now - in the process, and i hope this process completed before US data ))

Gold appears to be aiming for 1313........The trend is your friend until it ends. Well it assuredly has ended. However probably only temporarily. The overall trend is still down so this is probably only a retracement........ Then again it is gold...Could roll over at any time..Tight stops.

Cant tell if your being sarcastic or not. If you sold at 1302 then that was a good trade i guess as you have some money but can i ask if you are holding this to the 1270s because I see this correcting higher short term now price punched in some highs. im not trading it, just would like to learn thank you please.

it could go lower than 1270 but this wants to go up first.. analysis coming up at weekend !

I agree with you mave, looking at other usd pairs, the weakness of USD doesn't make significant impact, perhaps USD is stronger than we think and might make a come back.

or the news doesn't have the same impact as before.. lots of news this week.. and gold is ranging between 1277-00, $27. should stick to PA. But you're right, the negative red bad news, which was better than previous nos. , might have only slowed down the fall.

Even though my sell was not triggered, my buy was triggered, I set it after I seen the H4 Inside bar close above the 20 MA.
