DislikedLOL - How? It's simple, Since I have been staring at these charts for the past 7+ years I don't need to always add fancy little lines and a crap load of distracting and useless, lagging indicators. I look at the price ACTION and the news for the day with an overview of fundamentals as my paramount. Being that I have been trading / investing in gold / silver since they were SUB 715 and sub 8 USD - never missed a day since then of chart "watching" My supports, resistances, key pivots, etc are all memorized. Then again, that's a short-term view. How do you normally analyze fundamentals for a week??? Using previous week data or using forecast data for the week ahead??After constant observance of 3-day line chart from Kitco, I have fallen in love with it !

Hi Buddy, Gotta run in a few but your post caught my eye.
It really, really depends on the release. Sometimes I am well positioned before the release and don't close trades until after it has more than settled to ensure fills.
Usually, I would have to say I like positioning pre- release.
Yet, there are often great trades to be had once the data is out.
This is where at least looking at the priors/ the forecast and then gauging the OVERALL market health for said release that week will be key.
We can surely go into further discussion tonight!

Unemployment is coming in 15 minutes with core CPI - should swing the market at least ten USD.
I expect UNPLY to be above forecast - meaning High - meaning BAD for USD - meaning Good for Gold.

I've been focussing on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency trades for a while. So far so good. although I am eager to start building a medium term Gold position as soon as direction becomes clear. One of my reasons for changing to Bitcoin as trade instrument of choice was that direction is clearer (UP like a tulip in Spring!) and that the range is good. Always keeping an eye on Gold I noticed the following:
Often Gold and Bitcoin (BTC) begin their H4 declines together, yet more often than not Gold will continue the decline after BTC has reversed back up. In fact, I'm watching this phenomenon as a possible trade signal. If it consistently repeats or there is some combination of factors that makes it predictable, it's surely better than being slapped with a wet fish!
Bitcoin PA as candles, Gold PA superimposed as ohlc bars - notice how Gold PA often continues decline after BTC has reversed off a correction low.

One advantage of having a owned platform is that I can program and add any tools I think useful into the platform and use them in my manual/algo trading. For example, it is very easy to add the gold 3-days' chart with live price update, or even design a bot to trade it.
