Date of death was earlier, 2001 but I have just learned from you how the capture we were given in 2011 affected the price of gold which IS relevant to Forex Factory (in contrast to what I just wrote). There is a BBC documentary called, 'The Power of Nightmares' which in searching for the year I learned about, noticed, but haven't watched and won't.... it is called "a killer documentary" - I can't write what it ostensibly proves, but I think I can safely say that it doesn't directly relate to OBL but to "Al Quaeda."

And immediately after that Sept 2011 metal prices fell consistently. Why? With a reduced demand for the available scrap metal for armaments meant that all metals dropped in price. Oddly, there was a steady increase in price of metals from post Sept 2001 announcement of a war on terror. It therefore stands to reason that a decrease in metal demand means a decrease in prices. Unless a new war becomes a strong inevitability for a major nation, then metal prices will conitune to fall to pre-2005 levels.

we share the same view then; and i`m looking for an entry around 99.50 as my first short,then if we go to 100 for a retest of the TL,I`ll short again and hang on for 95.30(96.50 is a worthy support too)...but like you said,90 is possible this month.

Gold Crashed This Year, And That's Awesome News For The Whole World
Everyone in the world should be happy about this development.
There's a few reasons for this:
-- The most obvious reason to be happy is one simply of direct observation: Gold crashed because the economy is returning to normal. People no longer feel as though everything is going to collapse. The US is doing okay, the European crisis is over, and there aren't major fears of a hard landing in China. For now there's no strong reason to think the global financial system could collapse.
-- A secondary effect of lower gold prices is that there's less urgency to spend labor and energy digging up gold from the ground. Watching people spend lots of resources to dig up useless rocks is a sad thing for the world, so lower prices has a nice knock-on benefits.
-- But the real reason we should be happy with the gold crash is that it proves the worth of the corpus of economic knowledge we've built up over all these years. If large government deficits and QE had resulted in hyperinflation and gold going to $10,000 then we'd pretty much have to do the drawing board in terms of what we know about the economy, and how we can prevent future crisis. The fact that the gold fever popped is a demonstrate that contra the angry-Austrian, hard-money cranks, the conventional view of the economy is more-or-less correct. And that knowledge is worth trillions (as evidenced by the fact that that knowledge quickly got the US out of the worst slowdown since the Great Depression).
Gold's crashing represents an exit from the crisis mentality, and it vindicates the value of thousands of human-years worth of economic understanding, which may be incalculable. This is something everyone can be happy about.

sorry for the post in wrong thread. some body posted about crude that's why i asked about i just want to say the senior members of the forum who are already doing crude oil to start a seprate frum for crude oil is any body willing to do that.

The rebound this morning was driven by strong physical demand from China, which was the top news of many Chinese newspaper on Sunday. The crazy "China's Aunt" is acting again, due to the high shopping willing and low gold price. One gold shop in Beijing sold 200bln RMB in Sunday.

However, on the other side, the short betting is still accumulating while it increased 1.1% from December 2013. Speculators are betting on lower prices.

Besides the small short I opened from 1210 ytd, I loaded more short from 1225. Still targeting 1175-1185.
