As The Rhodie mentioned before, the 1276 level is an important Fib level. It is the 62% (0.618) retracement of the July/August advance.

The market is really getting its knickers in a knot around this level but the irony is that the July/Aug advance was the end of an asymmetrical 4th wave, so it actually has little relevance to what is in effect right now, namely wave 5 - the last last leg down in Gold's correction since the 2011 top.

We're going up in a correction to the upside right now - it shouldn't get far but a strong and definitive push up will mean that subwave 3 (of wave 5 down) can do its thing - which is to get us to the low near 1180.

did you remember to close your MT4 for ~10 seconds and then re-open it?

yep copied the ex4 file into the indicator folder, closed MT4 for more than 10 seconds, but if I look in the dropdown for Indicators on the menu under custom, nothing

Someone called 1260/5 as a good long entry...

I think I had mentioned that we are basically moving between 1250 and 1350 at this point which is pretty tight range for gold.

Holidays are coming up, especially the winter holidays, many will be on breaks soon.

I hate to say this but at this point it is possible the price may just remain a bit stagnant until 2014.


Even on the last attempt downwards, 1250 as well as 1200 remain intact thus far.
Likewise,
1350 is proving to be quite a thorn in the side for the topside. AND we have not crossed back into the 1400s for some time as of now.

Price all and all remains sideways.

any thoughts welcome.

100 bucks is certainly tight for the short term, I would prefer to see the range on the daily opened back up from 1200 to 1450 -

Not to say it's not trade able, just not great for positioning.

The USD did take a nice hit recently, upon some retracement north - occurring, - I expect it to dump off again. Likely helping the gold price.

Strange - so go to your program files, your MT4 / experts / indicators and see if you find it there - if not, do a direct copy and paste into that file and re-start again - paste in both indicators in case one of them is a bad copy....if you still have a problem, send me a PM so that we don't clog up the thread....

if my count is correct, that was subwave a and subwave b of wave 3

According to EW, PA to the upside should gather momentum now. Let's see.

this being a C wave up means it will not subdivide into three waves (A, B and C) but into five waves (12345). Each of the 5 subwaves subdivide into ABC - this is diagonal counting as manifests in Gold, the Dollar and the Euro.

Bear in mind that wave 4 could retrace deeply (near the top of wave 1) or if it is shallow it can drag on for a long time.

Agreed and when it moved off the fence, it was upwards, with a signal in the 15:45 gmt bar and it went up to the MR 1 level and again turned back, so I pirated a couple of bucks whilst they were on offer and am finished for the day.....

My chart shows/implies big fall soon... interest rates might be the trigger.
The good thing with the future is that it is progressively approaching...
