Hi venzen,

In one of your posts, you recommended Oanda. I am thinking of changing my broker because of their MT4 which goes through complete stoppage during times of news. Also, many of my orders get rejected for no apparent reason. I searched for oanda but got confused because there seems to be more than one. So, can plz post the link to their website, for I highly appreciate your recommendation. I wonder also if they have an MT4 which does not have the same problems I experience with my present broker.

Oanda has regional offices in the US, Europe and Asia. Usually their website will direct you to your regional website according to your IP address. But: you don't want to sign up with Oanda in the US because of complicated regulations and trading restrictions that apply in the Land of the Free. I recommend Oanda Europe because they have few restrictions on what you can trade and at what leverage. Oanda Asia imposes some limits on leverage due to regulations that apply in Singapore. Just follow the link at the top right hand corner of the website to access Oanda Europe (.co.uk)

Apparently MT4 has the problems you mention no matter which broker you're with. This is due to the manner in which MT4 executes your trades via an API layer. What a lot of people do is to use MT4 (can be used with Oanda) for TA and then they execute directly via Oanda's fxTrade platform which is very fast. I have not had issues with execution or slippage that I can remember.

looks like gold meet resistance 1289 today,add another sell entry at 1287,targeting 1268.

Gold looked weak on friday: shorted the open a few hours ago at 1288.30 http://localsfoolsgold.blogspot.be/

Went short at a break of 1280, might look at adding to my position if i get a signal on the 15 min time frame if we get a small pullback to around the 1285 area.

Down I am thinking, there is resistance around 1285, I thought it would have broken higher and headed for 1300 before coming down, but it has already broken the low at 1285 so I see more downside than upside today.

I also bought - a couple a bars later later - and put my TP at Friday's low of 1287.38 and that was just hit and so I took another $4 or so.....its a US holiday....
