Price is usually more volatile around releases,

IMO - This has to do with the market's anticipation of whether the releases would even come out or be skipped.
There was a rumor to the latter.

thanks, i'll leave that little .03er for the longer term swing and look to reload lower, hopefully that 1295 area

Your explanation makes sense.

When I look at the 5M chart, I can see the shape of EWs in the price rise today.
The first two waves have equal length, and I believe we are now at the beginning of the 5th wave, which might close above 1350.

Does that make sense?

When I look on H4 Gold chart there is forming AB=CD with max. price 1353.5... another reason why to be really careful with longs... Last week I am really lost in golden chart... Anyway with "scalps" still in profit

1343 is 50% fib resistance .

Watch and wait for 1350 to get cracked and tested, that bull flag on the Daily isn't necessarily "complete" technically speaking.

Due to the "news" for now being passed us, these gains will likely be pared.

Thus,

1350 is the next round resistance target to take out and be flipped support.

That will give gold a 100 USD move north in only two weeks. OK but we've seen better.

After looking at the daily for a while.

1350 is the KEY!!!

North or South.

You will find your technical direction there.

Well, great number you mention...

If you want my call - the gains will get pared in a 15/20+ USD range and the test to take out 1352 is coming.

Then we look to next targets.
