A bounce from 1290 back to 1300 would set up a nice run to 1250.........

Traders who like bear markets and know how to short are happy, just like the big boys. Average people who may want to buy some metal as an investment are hooped and should go back to flipping houses or holding garage sales for extra cash.
As everyone here knows, it is hard to make money in the markets until you devote plenty of time and develop some savvy. The Americans are about to default yet the USD is OK and Gold is down. It takes a pro to make sanity out of that.

Advertisements for average people to buy gold or silver as an investment are gone! Here is my question.
Is the tanking of gold and silver an attempt to keep money out of the hands of the "average family" so only "big players" and savvy observers of the players are profiting? Keep people broke and guessing?? It's just a question.

What do the senior people think, because as a junior, I don't see much investment future in metals for the average person anymore.

Known before. Yellen Fed News came out yesterday afternoon. Minimal effect if any.

Knowing the news is not important. "Knowing" what the market will do with the news is.

I put quotes around knowing because it is always about probabilities.

I guess what we are seeing here is capitulation, but it might take a while for the bottom to show itself. People are just sick and tired of gold's severe underperformance in the last few years...

$1,277 is certainly a likely downside target, but gold stopped at a supportive level so I would expect at least a bounce before it continues downward.

This is true, but we can be prepared at some level. I think it is safe enough to be aware of supply and demand zones before news come out. What was the last cheap price to buy? What was the last expensive price to sell? After important news, price may drop into a demand zone and then rally, or it can do the opposite: Rally into a supply zone and then drop.

If specific news are known to produce high volatilily, then expect price to reach daily or weekly zones. If not, expect price to reach H4 zones. Once price is there you can decide whether to trade at market price, or wait for confirmation.

Even for scalping, it's better to wait for price to reach a good SD zone or some support/resistance, than pulling the trigger in no man's land.

I prefer to trade what charts are saying rather than follow what people are saying. Because I lean on zones where decisions were made in the past. The higher the TF where the decision was made, the higher the probability that zone will produce a similar behaviour, even when news come out.

Back to trading after a very long break,

Seems like trading news has become more of a toss of a coin, these days...

And what seems to be obvious, don't seem to be happening...

The only thing am very happy now, is the way in which this thread has progressed.

I still see the fire in XTrade to keep this going... Keep up the good work and every one else too...

P.S: Will start posting sometime soon...
