Hello everyone,
I have a situation with a broker, on a live trading account, where on four occasions, under high volatility, that the platform's server time is continuously 1 minute (5 minute at max) off the actual market time. I had positions opened during this, this happened in a situation where, tick charts were just stalled and stopped moving, and then 30-60 seconds later, they just update again then stall again. I can reiterate that my connection was totally fine, because I had demo accounts using MT4 on other brokers, showing no delays, no tick by tick failure at all. I have also used my iPad to connect to MT4, my iPad does not use the same wifi as my PC, totally different service provider and infrastructure, and there was also a lag on the prices fed onto my phone. I lost a considerable amount of money due to these lags, and I find it very weird how this has happened, because it is impossible. Broker told me that their server are up 99.9% during that day, that's fine I assume, their servers were indeed up, because I was able to authenticate my login on MT4 using my PC and Phone, hence, yes server were up, but the tick by tick data was incorrect. The really confusing thing is that this broker is big and famous, and I just don't know why this has happened, but I am rather disheartened and am looking for all fellow trader's advice on what I should do and how should I argue against my broker of this freeze/delay, because what they are saying is just a bit irresponsible.
