Does it say where their stops are? Even if not if they should be pretty guessable using nearby S/R levels ...

It printed a bearish outside bar on the 4h chart off of 1750, also it's had a pretty straight run up. Don't think it's reversing but it's certainly due some pullback/profit taking. It is Friday though so anything can happen.

Silver is taking off though so who knows, I can only comment on what I see any my interpretation of the charts.

hmmm

Debt crisis averted or postponed in Eurozone? ... done deal? hmmmm lets see what comes out of the details of this deal... which banks will play and which will not.. how the workings of the restructuring of the Greek debt will work, new Eurobonds, "new" greek bonds? how much will the Germans Austrians and the Finnish allow? will the ECB be turned into a printing machine? will this latest hardening of the Euro /decline in the dollar bring about QE3 in the US..

I have a feeling that the current up in gold over the past few days had already priced in the Euro up, Dollar down scenario... and that some large scale repositioning went down, investors holding cash until something came out of the Euro debt talks, started to pile back into the markets, and into gold, but at some point the reality of the Eurozone deal and its limited scope will emerge.. how little it actually is aiming to achieve (reduction in debt to gdp in greece of down to 120%!) looking at the bond yields for Italian, Spanish and Greek bonds , it does not look like there is much confidence in this deal actually working.. I still feel there could be, over the nearish term future a reversal here of Euro and USD , and gold will have to take a breather at some point... I could be wrong of course, would not be the first time.. but I still could imagine it visiting south one more time... only time will tell, and it could be that we are currently being treated to a bit of shock and awe.. and that we will not get a chance to buy back in at sub $1600/1700 levels for a quite a while... either way we have a had a fair few up days in a row now... so eyeballing.

made some ok money since monday, but did not get the drop I was somewhat "expecting" (yet) and as a consequence did not get long as hard or as early as I would have liked.. and having cashed in all of my open trades last week, only had a few(5 or 6) new open trades this week, all made nice profit, but am now all in cash again waiting to see if we get a pullback to re enter..

I think i'll be looking for short signals, to me price has reached a supply zone.
Althought it broke my up channel, I think i can see some kind of divergence on higher timeframes.
Maybe price - time moved too fast?
I'll just be trading the consolidation zone it created under the highs on Friday.
Thinking short shorts.

btw nice doji star on daily! let's see what monday gives us.

In this last quarter with the retest of yearly breakout 1551 holding ground we have 1674 and 1617 continuing as we watch the day to day.
This past week begins with hitting daily highs area 1699 and rotating back to daily and dropping below both daily and monthly pivot 1674 she finishes the week at the daily low 1620 and quarterly pivot battle line 1617 area thurs. with a push back up fri. out of that area eventually breaking thru fri. daily pivot and with a retest of 1634 she closes above.

golds higher timeframes support quarterly trend guide 1617 holds ground. This week once on the other side of weekly pivot 1643 on to the otherside of monthly pivot 1674 and with the daily and weekly highs breakout of 1693 confirms who lost that month long battle between 1617 and 1674. Hopefully we got some orders in at the retest of yearly high breakout 1551 area along with 1617.
This past week gave us the weekly pivot 1643 area.
Now we can get ready for what the girls have to bring to the table next month
This week it will be interesting to see how the weekly highs 1775 respond .
this week will be watching 1702-10 and 1769-75 response.

Price does not go strait up or down.
price extends out and rotates back.
The saying "same above as below " mean anything ?
as we try to follow pa one would begin with the 5 min. and the last 3 bars.
whats h/l/pivot ?
next up the 15 min. and whats h/l/pivot?
Now your getting a feel for direction and the idea.
next up 30 min., 1hr,4hr.,day,week,month,quart., year.
you say you have a 5 min high rotate back to pivot and pushes up and breaks your 5 min high ? lets what the h/l/c of 15min. ? does she rotate back to test the 5 min. highs and break or does she dip further testing the past 15 min. pivot ?and pushs up from there?
Since the higher timeframe is the stronger trend we do well to keep there h/l/ and pivots in mind otherwise we might find ourselves wanting to buy when the higher timeframe trend is about to end and rotate back towards the timeframes pivot or its breakout.
An example of that would be when many who follow gold said buy more as we were about to achieve 2,000 when the 3 yearly higher timeframe told us 1936 was the area to look to head south.
so what do we do ? look at the weekly, it told us that 1922 was high for the week and look for rotation back she did just that and dropping below daily pivot 1893 was first clue for continuation south.
The goal is likened to driving a car on the road, one eventually has the ability to take there eyes off the gauges and relax or by looking at the cloud formations and be able to tell wind direction, type of clouds, if there is a stronger front coming in, or if its going to rain or not.

Yeah my question as well. Think = hope.

Stocks have moved higher already. Some economic indicators have been positive or at least not as bad so I believe Fed is holding back possibility of Q3 to be used as a last resort.

I agree Suntrader, the majority of S&P 500 stocks have surprised analysts with higher than expected earnings so far this round, despite overall market pessimism, in my view making QE3 more unlikely in the immediate future.

As you said stocks have already gone up - how does the saying go..."Bull-markets are born on pessimism, grow on skepticism, mature on optimism and die on euphoria" -John Templeton (I think) - I would suggest that the pessisism of the last few months make this an excellent entry point for purchasing blue chips right now to hold and ride up and this will help the economy far more than any sort of QE3, especially given the failure of QE1&2 to do anything but help the big banks.

Just my view, I am happy to be proven wrong!
