In forex you are right,in Gold not.Forex kills my first acc

I see pivot at 1660 above that its bullish i buy below that i short .and Judging from candles there is a possibility of big bullish hourly spikes .

If you want to learn and stick around, post clear cut view with some sort of reasoning. Ie: technical or fundamental.

And don't have a wise ass attitude toward forum elders ie: SunT.

Here are some charts relating to my post about USD going down, Gold rebounding and risk coming back on.

Gold Chart. Shows the semi small range we were in. With Higher Highs and Higher Lows. Volume seems to be building after a small decline.

I will expect with the right formulation an initial test of 1700 then some sort of a
breakout through the area flipping the psycho level back to support.

Next chart - USD CHF - favorite pair to short the USD on.

-- clear downtrend channel seen with all time lows. Breach, and sustained.
Yet, now price is resting on interim mild support which I will expect to break in upcoming sessions.

A test of the top of the channel may be warranted if these conditions meet.

Yet, I will remain sort of non - biased longer term on this pair. I feel the lows can be taken out, yet with the recent Euro pegging to the CHF by the SNB it could be a done deal and although the USD may fall against other majors, it could potentially rise at this point against the swissy. I have been bearish on this pair for quite some time. Perfect example of where to open up a "hedged"
position. If you were short say for 1000 pips, then saw the channel break as a possibility as well as buying against your position at the lowest price ever...

Well, you'd be in the money on both sides.

I don't often discuss them because there is a little 'Art' involved in reading them but as I see them now, combined with PA & ICCE...

I new this was going to be a difficult week to anticipate.
Gold hit the anticipated 1691 area and rotatated back hanging around monthly pivot 1674 and waited for sis to reach her monthly pivot area 33.28.
So whats the 2 of you going to do ?
Look for direction coming out of golds weekly pivot 1664 along with eye on 1674 response to the north.
sis weekly pivot is 32.62 and response to the north of 33.28.
Again being that we are dealing with higher timeframe rotation (yearly and quarterly) its harder to anticipate direction.
She acts like she wants to head north with her daily close above 1674 but usually when one is topped out as gold has been this week and waiting for the other, past habits is to head south.

Just my modest opinion:

Area 1678-1682 is one good level so far. That is a fibo 38.2 retracement from ATH 1920.75 to low at ~1532.

In bullish scenario, breach of that, then round number 1700 (1702 was level when price first droped from ~1900), then pullback to ~1700, combined with good SR level + TL - will give clear sign of better setup for long. That I could hold for longer, IMHO.

what do you have on the daily that would show a good entry for your daily orders ?
Im looking at 1664 and 1674 response.
Im in at 72 and waiting on silvers response @ 32.62 area they should tell us if we have to flip.

see that response , reading her like a book.
theres your 78 area and mondays highs.

we seen those 3 5 min. bars lets see the next 3.
gotta tend to bus.

Hi im learning about trading gold...does gold work on supply n demand basis?
And currently on daily chart are we forming an ascending triangle? Plus the 50% fib level of the fall from 1909 is around 1720...does gold correlate with forex pairs?

Just found quite a good article on gold, silver, EUR/USD. very informative on the fundy side and also highlight's the MACD crossover Bemac pointed out earlier.

I don't usually pay attention to indicator crossovers like this but coming from a senior J16 instructor I'm all eyes:
