MOASS
MOASS, or the "Mother of All Short Squeezes," is a term popularised in online stock-trading communities to describe a scenario where a heavily shorted stock sees a sharp, massive increase in price due to a short squeeze. A short squeeze happens when a stock's price rises rapidly, forcing short sellers to buy shares to cover their positions, which further drives up the stock price.

It's actually a tad more complicated than that.

A stock's number of shares is divided between internal ownership, institutional ownership & free float. The free float is the number of stocks that is openly available on the market and exchanging hands.

Now, if you were to find someone that has, say, put options on a specific stock but the options exercise forces them to buy back more than the available free float then and only then you will get a MOASS, as their algo's are obligated to buy to close, driving the price up in the absence of the stock to buy (i.e. bids upwards until stock is made available - someone's TP).

In theory it can be infinite, in practice humans get greedy at about x10-x20.
