Done for now (i think). Reasonable progress. Digger i did take one 'runner' from what i figured was a solid entry and it turned out to be so. Two others earlier i had thought the same and i should have protected those at breakeven when it did get to 10p profit, but i did not. They ran negative but did close and i was pretty confident they would (but what i think and what it does do not usually agree). so all in all not bad, a couple of errors but a good decision on the highest trade, good entry, i did protect, i found a reasonable exit for 67pips

Quick question to those who are trading gold.

What's your spreads on your broker?

My broker is showing spreads of 25 pips. With this kind of spread, taking 11.2 pips initial profit is really pointless.

Or is there something I'm missing?

are you sure its 25pips and not 25 points? my spread is good I cant complain

you can see mine on all my charts. you are counting points i think. Mine is a little higher spread on this account than on my others. There is no commissions here for this account. My TP is set to $1.00 of market movement (= 10pip) since that is fast for me to lock in manually.

10 points = 1 pip
I'm using Fusion Markets, I'm really happy with them but its an offshore broker so when account gets bigger I might need to look for alternatives.

If your quote is e.g 1800.00 - 1800.25, than your spread is 25 points or 2.5 ticks/pips. So with 11 ticks target, you can still scalp. I have the same spread, with no commission.

Ok this sounds much better. Probably can still stay on my broker. and yes commissions do make a diff too. Mine has no commissions as well, so it's identical to yours.
