Silver has begun to underperform gold since the overnight session. Unless something has changed recently, this is a very bearish sign for previous metals:

Theme: FOMC clear indication of short term inflation rise!! Long term is still weak.
Technical: as I said earlier 1765 to 1680 is a broad range will play for next two three moths Before it breaks out to advance up.
Fundamentals: All indicators are showing the short term inflation rise. At the time of writing 10 year yield was 1.75% which increased from 1.6%.
Strategy: Buy at 1700 makes sense once the Dollar shows retracement.

XAUUSD technicals still support bears. The current northward retracement is likely an attempt by bulls to capture some liquidity around the 1743.80 area.

Gold (CME futures) has been in about a $10 trading range since opening up this week. With most of the world on a holiday I don't expect much. But we do have some pretty important US data coming out in about at hour. Even though it looks like some volume has come into the market I'm not expected a huge day one way or the other.
