Honestly, it comes down to what you want in your heart of hearts. If you could have anything what would that be? Once you decide that, you have to let everything else just go. And concentrate on just one thing. If this is it then this is all that you need to do. And if it’s not? You need to get out of here and run away as fast as you possibly can. But if you think this will be easy or simple or anyone can just figure this out in a day or a month or a year. Not even possible. And that’s the honest truth. That’s just the raw truth of the whole deal!
The truth is that if you want to learn this then you will need a lot of free time and effort. There are no shortcuts or easy money here.

yes it did take a long while before i had money , stupid mistakes over and over i was on demo for a long time then then went live did well on etoro , moved to mt4 which suited me had ups and downs for a few years then , i tossed out most of what i learnt started afresh with just a few indies , i watched the charts traded one pair and then it hit me between the eyes so simple all those years wasted , did ten to 12 trades between 4pm and six pm this was my time to trade monday to friday making $200 approx per day taking a few pips as the account increased so did my lot size , i am sure every trader did what i did early on , no tricks no magic ea,s , no holygrail just a simple chart with a few indies has you say milicentfx its in every bodys hands if they want to learn ,

a little btc homework, have been slacking on btc because the spread just keeps fkn rising on my broker but may open separate account just for crypto. anyways looks as if we may be heading up towrds one of the standard DPs looking more towards DR3 to be honest, and possibly WR1. Were above DP WP and MP Emas look ready to cross up stoch is towards the top. hope all having a good weekend

I dont know who did that but some time they hit wrong side and they did not know .We have to sympathize and do not think bad about them ,it is out of their will .No one on earth can make thumb down for the other traders. Without Digger, Aussi ,Dingoman, Ced74 and other trader we dont know what we have known now and progress to make us become better trader .Thanks for all your contribution in this thread . We continue to learn from you .

Learning to trade is tough enough when you have money coming in from a job or a spouse's job or retirement to cover your bills while you learn. Even then one can come off as a troll due to being so frustrated that nothing is working and, even worse, those built up emotions have the domino effect of blinding your ability to "see" and think and learn. It's beyond difficult for someone in a bad financial/emotional state to learn how to trade. Somehow we think we can just show up and everything will come together in time to save us. Then reality kicks in and fight or flight takes over and we start kicking and screaming and begging. It's rough. I think we've all been there, done that at some point in our lives. When it happened to me back in my 20's, after losing our business, it took a couple years to work through the loss and regroup. The #1 key at that time was to get a job, any job, to just pay the bills. It wasn't a time to try to start a new business (or to try to learn how to trade). I can relate and definitely feel for the guy, but right now, trading probably isn't the right vehicle for recovering from a difficult situation...as it's more likely to make one less stable than more stable. I hope things work out for him.

Friday's gold trade:
I never hold a currency trade over the weekend. However, I'm willing to hold a commodity that has many reasons to gap at the open. My thought on the gold trade was it had come off of a very strong demand area and had closed for 2% profit so far on Friday and there was a huge chance, the reason I jumped on it in the first place, that the US Senate would approve the massive $1.9trillion dollar stimulus over the weekend. I have just a quarter of my original trade left on so, while there is always the risk of a gap down over the weekend, I calculated that the upside gap was a much more likely scenario than a downside gap being the last two stimulus packages for a lot less money ran gold up (and gold has been driven into the ground going into the news event)...free fiat money coming into an economy all at once tends to drive inflation. In this case it's twice as likely to inflate many times more than the previous stimuluses. Why? Because the economy is already quickly inflating back to pre-interruption levels without any 'incentive' other than to get back to living our lives and now this will be a fast hit of massive inflating free money. (My guess is China will feel more inflation than the US as much of the money will end up there.)

The 2% profit from the trade also helps pad any loss due to a gap should it skip down past my stop loss.

As my wife reminds me, I'm not always right. So we'll wait and see what trading the process brings because all we can do is trade the process; the market will do what the market will do. Hope everyone has a profitable week and we'll keep praying for digger1's ill daughter and Kmw's ill wife.

Agree, it's a disappointing open for gold. Watching to see if it comes back to Friday's high and looking for follow through to the upside. It did hit my 3rd profit level at 3x my stop loss, but I didn't close it. Will wait and see what happens.

Took a Bitcoin trade and it's doing okay. Hopefully both will keep moving.
