No worries at all mate, don't think you are slow at all. All part of learning something new, right

Like for me, I had no clue about Camarilla pivots apart from hearing the name a few times. It wasn't until I noticed some price doing funny things at a level and then Digger1 pointing out the Cam levels until something clicked. At that time price was reacting from the Cam level...

We can't know everything, or even need to. We just need to shift resources and thinking process to things we need to succeed.

Struggling a little today and can't help but notice the shoulders on both these pattern since making the mistake to miss one this Tuesday. Good place to enter was the pivot, but something I had missed today, something definitely to make sure to practice. Earlier runner for buy side was taken out and here I am trying to target some 10 bangers What I am struggling with is to identify if AUS sold or bought or both...and watching this tail circled in white if it may come into play.

Hi, munchie, what you said is very correct. Dig is a very good trader teacher. He has no obligation to spend time here to release energy, but he did! This is the reason why I am here almost every day. Although I still can’t understand most of the knowledge, only here can I see some hope. Here are your wonderful exchanges and the collision of trading ideas, even if it’s fragmentary. I have to put them in my head bit by bit! Thank you for your existence!

I will second that. I am not sure that Digger is human, he certainly doesn't seem to sleep! I have been loitering in this forum for sometime now. I have been trading for around 3 years and have had some very mixed results. I have a lot of respect for all of the regular posters here. Some really bad and aggressive threads on Forex factory, but this one seems to be so full of genuine and successful traders, who are all more than happy to support new and struggling traders. Certain pieces of the puzzle have certainly started falling into place for myself of late. I can see munchie doing great, and she is not shy to put out her charts and homework for all to see. A big thumbs up to Aussi and his thread of great people!

It is actually great to share and I hope even a few of my posting can help others learn as well, even if there are mistakes to learn from
Working towards being able to afford to science haha, not as important and impactful as farming , but could have small potential impact on so many other little things that may just add up.

Anyways, had Runner left that I just closed as frankfurt opening I think.

First great to see you putting up full content with your progress.
As this may help I will put up some further suggestions.
You are touching on the very area were learner traders make it or over time fail. That being emotional control.
All constantly profitable traders are able to control and contain there emotions for the period they are trading.
You must learn how to control uncertainty, fear, apprehension and any other harmful conditions.
When you sit at your trading table it is like flicking a switch on mind set the moment you go into trading action.
OK so how do you instantly turn your self into a fearless all conquering trader and keep it up for your trading session.
As you progress give this some very serious thought Munchie, there are methods, practices and actions which you will pick up on to help install this warranted behaviour and mind set.
I can assure you that when you have made the system your own it will become a lot of fun, give it time and perseverance.
Rome was not built in a day.
All the best.

duskyboy, you're so very right! I had a doctor who became a friend of mine and he saw dozens of patients a day. I noticed he did an amazing job of focusing on his patients so I asked him how he could do this high concentration on each individual patient day in and day out as well as handling phone calls, walk ins, personal life, etc.
He told me he learned a trick. He literally retrained his brain so when he entered the room to see a patient, just before he opened the door, he would snap his fingers. To his mind, snapping his fingers changed his focus to only being present with his patient. He said he's done it so many times over the years that now he doesn't even think about it, he just does it. The mind is an amazing thing!

Another example of 'flicking a switch' is a friend of mine who is an institutionally trained trader. She lifts weights literally while taking trades. Trading to our brains tends to cause an adrenaline rush ending in a fight or flight response - massive emotions considered to be like a caveman fighting a mountain lion for his life. Science suggests that lifting weights (exercising) uses up the adrenaline and keeps us, or returns us, to our logical brains and stops/slows the emotional reactions. It also keeps us from having ptsd which is a result of adrenaline, that isn't used up by physical fight or flight, being left setting on our brain. It builds up over time which causes the brain to release a growth hormone that changes the length of the ganglion in the neck which controls the pituitary gland which controls most involuntary items in the body. (I won't go further with this, but i've studied it in depth due to a rare neurological disease my child has - no worries, they are doing well.) Just exercise!

Sometimes we're pushing too hard to get trading 'right'. (Many traders are perfectionists and need to figure out a way to overcome not being right every time.) Sometimes we're trading with too much risk. Other times there are outside influences causing abnormal emotions (family issues/illness, money problems, work, etc). Often, a trader doesn't have a plan for what to do when they have a bad trade. Or, we dwell on bad trades and pout/stay upset/react like a two year old, instead of practicing moving on quickly. A baseball pitcher must learn early on to find a balance between caring about a bad outing and learning from it, but then moving on quickly or it will destroy his next opportunity and he will ultimately lose his position to someone who might not be as good a pitcher, but is great at his mental game.

All interesting things. Much of it boils down to trying different things until we find what works for us. I have stress balls that I bounce on the floor and off the walls, etc, and I exercise. If my emotions are out of check then I have to leave my trading desk and go exercise until I'm back in my 'right' mind. I also try to make trading as boring and mechanical/automatic as possible. And I have a bad trade recovery process that I do as soon as my stop is hit. That plan has made my mind relax a lot more. I enjoy trading. I like learning something new every day. But, it's taken me years to get to this point. I was a 12 year 'overnight success'.

The people on this thread are amazing people. I really appreciate everyone who comments in here. Keep working hard.

G'day Digger,

I hope the rehab is going well! So do you use Ensign for everything chart related, and then place the actual trades on Metatrader?

all part of home work ,, seeing whats below tht pivot level ,, then the head and shoulder pattern developed,,,,, then start putting parts and pieces together ,,,one just cant sit there and hmmm maybe this maybe tht and watch price bounce up and down tht nice few hour long pattern is an automatic find the flag back left and and get the projection ,,, then take the mini rides there or get in and ride it to the projection ,,then see what time it is ,, what day it is etc etc what is the next session etc etc ,,, ,, start physically drawing tht shit out ,,, ,,practice practice practice ,, wont take long and what you draw comes to fruition time and time again ,,

Thanks for that. I was watching the move down on Gold yesterday start off from a nice rejection of the M15 200 to the dollar. A good 10 banger to hold on down there! And of course the bounce back from the Monthly S3.

You have really made me aware of the more significant levels and moving averages
