I am long 1533 tp: 1538 sl: 1530... i dont know any technical or fundamentals buton 4 hourly candle i see smooth sailing till 1542...
The one thing that might change my approach is whether or not this headline has any impact (gaps): Speaker Pelosi: House moving forward with official impeachment inquiry. I don't think it will. It was already known and priced into the market.
With a light calendar and nothing stopping money flows into gold amid the uncertainty, we might have continued strength. Check out what gold has done since the FOMC meeting. The big red candle was FOMC. Since then, it's been in rally mode big time.

I wasn't expecting this rally in gold, but I'm still expecting it to go to the 1450 area before making a new high. Here's a 4 hour chart and admittedly it looks pretty bullish:
As I've said many times, gold is highly correlated to bonds and has the same drivers. Gold may be closing in on it's high, but bonds aren't even close yet. This latest rally in the 2y looks like it's just a corrective wave of a downtrend:
It's more or less the same story with the 10y:
Meanwhile the S&P still isn't far from it's high so the risk environment is fairly positive:
Putting it all together, despite what happened today it looks like we're still in a risk-on environment which is bad for gold/bonds. We'll probably see the S&P hit a new high and gold/bonds hit new lows near term. Given all the wild headlines, I could be totally wrong on this. Anything can happen so be careful out there!
