mav3n, here is level 3 filtering. I back it up with a simple, yet highly effective floating hedge, in case the signals are not right about the entry level and the price moves further down?

What I mean here, is they do buy signals, not sell signals, when they move it higher up. That is the point here.

mav3n, here is an example, of how to filter properly the annual/monthly opening price. I have cleaned 80% of all objects. Left only the turning points and few more I am lazy to clean now.

The road map alternative is making big profits, while the direction filter strategy suffers from a draw-down, as seen on the image.

These are the biggest pips open trades. Not visible on the chart, unfortunately, but we can see them in the objects. Holding 200 to 400 pips at the moment.

On the cable, the sells are opened 12 days already. The pair had made 800 pips so far. 800 pips are left from the 2019 trend. If it is going down. If it is going to reverse it higher up, there would be 1,600 pips. I dunno what will happen. All I know we are running out of time and the annual trend will be formed at any moment. Seems like going down.

Imagine now, you can hold these open for 600-800 pips more? It it goes down? Or you hold it for 1,500 pips, if it goes up?

Now, imagine, we know what we know now, but it is Jan 2019 instead of Jul 2019?

Even the level 1 strategy has no draw-down at the moment. Those weeks, from the beginning of March 2019? We run it there? Under the same level 1 approach? 10k open profit at the moment would have been for us... Too pity I am a slow thinker... Unlike Level 1, Level 2 and 3 approaches would nearly go without any draw-down. Nearly.

We have 500-600 pips on the downside max with the cable. Maybe not even that much...

I agree with your arguments though (even the more abrasively made ones) and think we are on the same page. I much prefer trading longer time frames because following the trend and fundamentals is much easier that way. Thanks for the good info here.

I feel that i should understand first how Closezilla 1.40 work. What i know it is like a plotting machine that plot P/L as the time goes. For example if i set the Write P/L for every X minutes to 1 minute, it will plot the P/L every 1 minute. First Question, why it plot one in the above and one below, what is the difference?

Next question : If we finally still cannot understand how to read the roadmap, is it still possible to be a profitable trader just by :
1. Following the annual Trend, for example : Uptrend
2. Add position when price goes below Median D1
3. Exit when overall cloud of our positions reached 80% of the Yearly Delta.

Are we still in 'Negative Pips' zone by doing only these? Is it a mandatory to use the "Roadmap Alternative" to be consistently profitable in the long run?

I really want to understand this Roadmap Alternative since months ago, but still haven't got the clue. What i am doing right now is watching how the Closezilla work. Dear MZ, btw in your trading Philosophy you said "Always BETTING against the OTHER colour!" , do you mean Always Betting against less dominant color in the roadmap chart? in case of Gold, we are betting against the Orange Color (sell) because it is less dominant.

You are right with that one. I have mentioned it here numerous times. We catch nearly 98% of the annual trend, if we enter with a new batch each week. If a new batch each month, 95% we catch of the max. We safe exit at 80%. This solves the early trend catcher. Problems is it takes more cash. Not an issue for me personally. Lets catch what is left of 2019 and net the full 2020 trend.

Holding it for the annual trend, even when using any of the direct chart level 1 strategies, puts you outside the 'negative pips' zone, by default!

They don't teach you that kind of stuffs, do they?

Holding it for the annual trend, makes you vulnerable only, if you screw it all up with the money management, as this is absolutely the most important element.

Regarding the CZ. She helps to be more aggressive and offers options for smaller targets like 50-100-150 pips, which wont really help, in a long run, when trading the chart directly, with EA or without. CZ filtering also offers higher annual returns, due to reducing the chopping impact... dramatically.

If the PLwritten on the chart is always written on top, for example, you won't be able to see a single line as they will overlap each other. Therefore, the swedish dev guy i work with, since Aug 2014, giving him tasks, every damn week, literally, is a very smart person. He figured that thing out. That is why you see the yellow text field with the present PL one time above and the next time below. Just to be able to read them...

Agreed! And the age old it takes money to make money is definitely true in trading.

I've been long gold for most of this year but after doing some analysis and talking to fellows like you I think I will add to my positions tomorrow and consider longer term scaling as well.

I always willing to go to Japan, but haven't visit it yet, yeah you're right it is a very superb country in term of cultural, economy, technology and any other aspect. Btw, in which prefecture you will stay MZ?

MZ, about holding the gold, do you divide your positions into long term position (holding until 80% yearly delta) and short term position (take smaller profit)?
Or you just try to hold them as long as they go, and make some sell position to compensate the drawdown?

We will travel it a full round. North to South. Probably 7 stops, 3 days each. We go to a local travel agency and ask where the Nipponers do go on their countryside? Willingly avoiding all popular tourist sites where foreign tourists are being pushed to... The real Nippon rocks big time!

My last example was from a shorter term hold. There is an auto switch on and off and I can't really tell how far it will go. Last time closures were like near or over 500 pips ($50 price delta) per trade.

Some bags will be missing. Won't be ours, for sure. Heathrow computer system got stuck today and the luggage was loaded manually.
