still waiting for correction to go bull , market perhaps waiting end some drama . with huge tanking yesterday my usdx index disabled , may come live only after filling perhaps !! strange !!!

as a newcomer to XAU, there's a lot of movement daily -- some days many $

if I've got this correctly, $1 = 100 pips @ ~US$10 = $1000 per $1

so can regular XAU traders assist on -- what you use as a "reasonable stop"
it seems that a 50c ( $500 ) stop would be necessary much of the time, even on the lower time frames, unless you're lucky

then the Lot size calc come after that

any advice appreciated

IMVHO stop should placed on technical basis: previous bar high/low, S/R line, trendline, ...
Then you choose your position size such that your loss does not exceed x% of your account. x is determined by your risk management rules.

The size of XAUUSD contract is 100oz which means $100 p/l for $1 of price move. Minimum size is 1oz.

Breakout in XAG/USD

XAG/USD took a breakout from the symmetrical triangle in the 4 hours chart at 15.36 after making a bullish engulfing candle in the last candle.
Entry: Around 15.36
Target: 15.425, 15.679
SL: 15.228

May well work out for you but I don't believe that is how to properly use it:

Notice they capture, for the most part, cleanly up/down waves with not much chop and overlap of triangles.

Looks like it has found the resistance at 1314.5. I still believe that it will continue its downward movement from here. Comments please
