yes, I'm 100% focused now in finding ways to exploit that the daily ema gets touched at least one time per day, noticed that this tends to happen and after ny the price is pretty far from the ema and there are a lot of odds that the price will mate in the asian or london sesion, so normally there is always a good spot to take a enter to catch this, friday just not, but it's rare and will be a loss because the price crossed the entry line, but probably easy to recover from next week.

Couldn't help noticing your post. If your toolbox only contains a hammer, every problem will get fixed with a nail. In the spirit of helping others, I'll expand your toolbox just a little. I've attached some code that might help you with your assumptions re: mean reverting MA's. Compile the code and lob it on a chart say M30 with a 48 period EMA set (average daily price 24 ema on H1). Results will be in the "experts" tab. You might have to play with the "PipsLeeWay" setting as for Gold it's a bit different, so where you would use 2 pips Leeway for a revert to indexes and forex, you might need to set it to say "20" instead (points for a 3 digit symbol) to get the same affect. I don't really use MT4 tbh but logic is logic no matter the platform. Have a play with it, might help might not.

For this indicator to be of benefit, you need a few years of unbroken gold "history" on your platform. Note that MA's will decay over time even when the market isn't doing much, so you might (for sure you will) need more than what you are using. In case you're wondering, the code won't show Friday's missed revert until Monday as it will be the start of a new day. Not intended to be run live, purely for research.

jr , ha , the depths of obscurity probably isint a bad place to be in this gig , an every nobody is a somebody some where , there is a few with some class yet it seems , very few associated with this circus world , but good to see the "spirit " if not for the "bar" well , my time seems to be less an less even with the "bar" obscurity would be the normal

Mr S s situation a bit unique , and others have phases of the same at work , on the go , in an out , but the "double barrel" or aka phone , is a bit of a main weapon at times , 1st few weeks of a quarter the boys usually dont waste a lot of time , and "procedure" will do its thing ,well the daily price average will serve one well if rolling along with the boys , get up there in that rare air as new all time high , (not at but thru Mr Hocius ) well a good thump on the noggin probably expected , eod , just had the "thru it" on the next in line the m30 200 at that point , same thing as always with the double barrel , chart box bottom support , and even if one could "see it" one can get to "thinking "
the aussi s do flex a little here and there , prime time for that "thought " to be remembered to be "thought of

and flex they did , to the point of even the "gyration " or the time Mr S might usually expect a poke towards or thru that daily price average ,,time nobody was interested an if a piece of sh-t 4 hour 200 is a rough monthly average a 2 hour 200 is a rough 15 day average , which to change sh-t around on or with the double barrel , well not the easiest or quickest to get done , which leaves some "toggle " views with a double barrel and one might have 2 that some sh-t is easily remembered such as an hourly down to a m15 , and even then a limited view on either when some what "normal " looking

jr , an as manic monday creeps on along , see Mr Aussi has probably had a field day , some things the ole double barrel would not have had , easy enough to have the daily average price , but all the "little " spots one would not have , and to toggle down to a m5 or one of the bucking broncs , well as said , the "veiw " starts getting limited in a hurry and by time one changed a bunch of sh-t such as "averages" welp it would "look "different " again and as mentioned by Mr Ced , nothing, absolutely nothing out of an ordinary "typical " start to a manic monday ,there is something that would be getting some "looks" for sure , as price creeps back to the old weekly open

Hi Nobody, exactly so that if our toolbox only has a hammer... we will approach things like they are nails. And that doesn't really go well if we need to put in a screw or bolt, when holding 2 things together is the problem at hand. Thanks for helping Sisucoro out and maybe interesting for others too. I find that a script is more suitable for this sort of task, I hope you don't mind that I put the logic you shared into that. I also added a lookback for custom days... for example if one wanted to look back 50 days, 100 days and so on. The info is printed the same on the 'Experts' tab of the platform.

talking about tools, not sure what is more reliable, the indicator or the traces, the quarterly levels can be easily deduced watching at the left, drawing the obvious lines at some hourly tf tend to coincide where the quarterly levels are , those are mine
