This post is absolutely correct. I have watched price come within .01 of my stops hundreds of times with my offshore broker and never get hit. Those stops would have been crushed with a US broker. The offshore brokers who are not regulated are actually doing so to be able to accept US clients. I also have my withdrawals within 2 business days ALWAYS., which is faster than most of the US brokers I traded with in the past. Haven't had an issue in three years.

I must give fxcm credit -- all of my funds were wired to my bank within 24 hours. Now I have to decide on Oanda or Gain or switch to futures, or some combination thereof. I was on the phone with an Oanda specialist for some time today, and its new trade matching engine seems decent. Spreads can be adjusted base on account size, and they have plans to implement a commission based model, which is preferred for some of my trading. Need to do more homework on Gain.

I noticed you always mention you have an "offshore broker" but you never mention it by name. I found it in your profile. I'm leary as hell about sending money to an offshore broker but I may have to give them a try. The fact that you DON'T mention them by name tells me you're probably not a Jason Rogers for the broker.

it just shows the level of stupidity at FXCM runs from the top down and this is reflected in your share price. Piss off into the sunset, the spin is dead your found out.

They dont even provide a real address as a contact, only a phone number and email.

Not sure what broker you are speaking of. Mine is ECN with very thin spreads and $3.50 per lot commission.

But what if they just call it quits and take off with all the customer money. You dont even know where they are. Basically you trust an anonymous email address to not screw you over. Personally i am not as trusfull. IMO not advisable for more than lunch money. At least with PFG, MF Global FXCM people got their money back.

If you ABSOLUTELY want to trade an exchange-traded product, then by all means, trade futures but just be prepared for the low volume and the HEFTY fees. If you still want to continue to trade forex, I would recommend Oanda over GAIN. Oanda at least states that they hedge against their net positions so they are risk-neutral even if they b-book. With Gain Capital, there is no hedging no nothing, they trade against you period. There is no A-book, B-book; EVERYBODY is on B-Book. So by all means do some research with Gain Capital see if it's a good fit for you but if I were in your situation, I would choose Oanda if I want to continue to trade forex.

Even though thanks to Dodd-Frank, your choices of decent brokers are very limited, if I were you, I would be VERY weary in sending my money to any off-shore brokers that are located in places that don't even have decent laws, decent address let alone financial regulations. I agree with Shrike, these companies can just disappear overnight without a trace and you won't even know where to BEGIN to find them and all your money is GONE and there will be no way of finding it. And these things happen ALL the time. The BEST scenario is: You give your money to the broker overseas thinking it's safe, at first you would still see your funds "deposited" on their website and you can see transactions but when you want to make some withdraws, you start to get the excuse and the delays: they never received your wire instructions, the instructions is wrong, they are under a different company and they all have ten thousand companies under ten thousand names, there is a hold on the cheque, their bank is closed, the cheque is sent but somehow it's delayed in the mailing process. Basically you are not getting your money. At first when you contact them, there is still someone answering your phone, chatting with you giving you those bs excuses and then after a few weeks a month, you are not getting any response, their phone no. is disconnected, their website is down and you are still not getting your money. And then the firm just disappears as if they have never existed.

That's the entire point of using a 500:1 broker. I only have 10% of my trading capital on deposit, the rest sits in my bank account until if/when needed. If they take off, I still have 90% of my capital.

It is so ironic that so many people trust FXCM, Gain, etc. despite the thousands and thousands of complaints, not to mention the regulatory actions. Yet, because a broker is offshore, it automatically means they are not to be trusted. The brokers accepting US clients CANNOT be regulated, otherwise the over reaching arms of the US regulations would prohibit them from allowing US traders. If you go to forex piece army and check Trader's Way or FX Choice, there are nothing but positive reviews

Hi,
I just want to report that my recent withdrawal request (made on 2nd Feb) hasn't been processed yet. With all recent development of fxcm in the US, I feel a bit unease. Normally, my requests are processed very fast - within 0 to 2 days.
I have emailed my account manager (2 days ago) and also the [email protected] (yesterday). My account manager just got back to me last night and said they will expedite the request.

The concern is NOT just that they are not regulated by the US regulatory body; it's that they are not regulated AT ALL, by anybody. And in fact there is not even regulations even laws in those offshore countries at all. Everything can be hunky dory for a few days, weeks even months but then all of sudden something can happen and your money can be gone in a flash and there could be NO recourse to get it back. It's this lack of or complete absence of recourse SHOULD something happens that worries people.

When we deposit funds with a broker, it's not the past or the present that we are worried about it's what COULD happen that's concerning. Sometimes it's not even the brokers' fault assuming it's a honest broker. What if it's a natural disaster hits and the whole entire country where the broker is located is gone, is there any contingency plans in place?

Been fiddling with the ideas I gleaned from the discussion and now I have nailed the moving of the tabs between each other.
A warning from the outset: the mouse must be moved horizontally otherwise if you drop below the tab line, the page will appear in blue and you then have to move your mouse to the middle circle of the arrow thingy in the middle of the page to release it and start again.

USING THE MOUSE

In this one I want to move the 1HR chart to the RIGHT of the H4 chart, where it is presently on the left. I place the mouse in the position indicated by the arrow--i.e., as close to the right hand side as possible. I then move the mouse so it is just past the line for the start of the H4 tab, and you will notice that they have changed position, with the 1HR chart now on the right, as indicated in the second shot:

Doing it this way avoids getting the blue shadow of the page which makes it harder to relocate than this step.

USING THE TOUCHPAD
1. Click on the tab you want to move;
2. Pressing down the left side of the touchpad, slide the tab over until it is between the two tabs you want to position it;
3. Bingo! There it is.

USING THE TOUCH SCREEN.
CAN'T GET IT TO MOVE AT ALL. I know it does, because I have done it; but it SO darn hard.....If we could just touch and hold for a second, a drop menu should come down and give us the option "Move before....." or "Move After.....:" as you get with most touch-screen-conscious programs. (I use a Surface Pro 3).
