I have asked once customer support to delete sub-account for live account and it was not possible. So I don't think it will be possible for demo either.

Great to be here. OANDA has been on and off of these forums for a while, but personally I have been a member since around 2006, and really have appreciated a lot of the quality input by some of the members here throughout the years. We are looking at expanding our CFD line of offerings* (Commodities and Indicies), as for specifics, I cannot get into that at this time, as there is really no set list that we know for sure, and the timeline is not known as yet. I do apologize, but that is the best that I can do for you on this question for now.
However, this forum is a great place for suggestions, so if you or any other traders have suggestions of what you'd like to see, I welcome your input.

I am using Oanda-Singapore. Can you explain to me why in the Indices like Netherlands25, my investment is earning little bucks just parking my funds there while in other Indices like Hongkong33 my parked funds there are deducted a few bucks overnight.
I'm going to try to give an answer in place of OandaRep:
The theoretical swap rate is mainly based on two parameters: The sum of the dividends paid by the companies included in the index (positive value) LESS the cost of financing (basically the interest rate of the currency in which the index is quoted which is usually a positive value deducted, except these times where it can be negative)
I don't know about that and didn't check, but maybe the dividends are higher in Netherlands than in HK.
And the Euro currently carries negative interest rates which isn't the case of the HKD (which adds to the swap instead of deducting a cost from he dividends)
This is one part of the answer. The second is that Oanda adds a margin for themselves on this. This is the reason why there is this difference between the long and short swap. The higher the difference, the higher Oanda's margin on the product. As a broker, Oanda earns a profit with the spread when you enter/exit positions, but they are not earning anything on this anymore if you just enter a position and keep it for a long time, this is why there is this margin, for them to earn a living.
The third thing is that Oanda is free to charge/pay whatever swap they want, and change it whenever they want. The theoretical swap value I mentioned at the beginning is just that: theoretical. So the broker (this isn't specific to Oanda) can push the values more in one direction or another for their own reasons. It can be a higher cost to hedge themselves for example, or because there is a lot of people in one direction on the product. Yes, this isn't very nice, and I'm not saying Oanda does it as I have no indication it is the case, but I've seen this practice with many brokers: If for example they have a lot of customers long on a CFD, they will be tempted to push the swap rates a little lower (and the opposite)
I hope this answers your question. Just keep in mind that a market maker can do whatever they want with swaps, and change it from one day to the next, even if there isn't any good reason for the change. If you say something, they will usually blame their liquidity providers, their favorite excuse, even if you don't have any relationship with their liquidity providers.

If you take a look at the spread chart for USD/CAD, enabling the maximum spread, you will see that the spread was capped at 20 pips prior to the CHF event. Now the regular maximum spread increased to 25 pips and sometimes even to 30 pips. Is this just temporary measure or do we have to expect the spread to stay the same for the pair?

wow thanks for the insights Mevo! This could explain why last week my Long Hongkong CFD was earning some bucks overnight, then this last 2 days it is lessened/charged by a few bucks overnight.
