Not much movement today. I guess the markets are consolidating in preparation for tomorrow's NFP.

Those manipulation crew sh*theads all over the GOLD again (doing whatever it takes to keep GOLD under 1200), buffing and knocking, what if NFP tomorrow comes up like 60k JOBS instead of 265k?
Keep shorting.. I'm still selling London, working 8 times out of 10.
Just curious when this all going to stop? 4 years in the row already.
I'll Give those crooks few more years I guess.

guys im holding few shorts that are in loss, 182 and 192, total loss £1000., i had hedge on long side earlier so made a little on way up offsetting losses, but i just closed hedge long, - however unsure as whether or not to take loss, whats the most likely direction of travel from here, it looks considerably bullish, keeps wanting to go above120 and i think it has risk of upside to 1220-1250, i could hedge again, but in two minds

any feedback much appreciated

take loss, and learn with play money, you have clearly no idea what you are doing, of course market can go down, and you are saved, but that is not the point, you just have to learn to trade, and that is not the way to do it

granted i have much to learn - how does one learn ?, i dont believe in taking a loss unless i have to, ie if i have no way to hedge out, or its too risky or margin issues id take loss, but one thing ive learned is not to take a loss and try regain position for break-even if possible, rather than feel emotional, take loss nd say ah well

what i need to think about is if price goes up - i could double up on a long nd get out at break even or just close now,

if you have any advice about improving my trading, eg tips youve learned along the way, id be grateful to hear them, every day is a learning experience

usually we learn from own mistakes, clever people also learn from others mistakes, and so on, it is a process

you have heard about trend trading, best way to make money

so, you have to know trend, you can use some MA for example this->

take M15 chart, put 3 MA on it, 1920 monthly, 480 weekly and 96 daily, and trade with trend

so in 1 chart you can see clearly what is going on, and not taking trades, when there is no clear trend and you can add some entry indis, maybe rsi2 or whatever, but yeah that`s about it in nutshell, trend trading, you don`t have to ask anyone what is going on, you can see it yourself

As I have suggested to one of the trader here before, I don't recommend hedging for new trader. It's painful to take loss but you really have to take the loss sometimes to prevent further damage to yourself. Even big brokerage firm like OANDA doesn't allow people to hedge their trades because it will be disastrous to many new traders.

One more thing to point out is that you are hedging your losing trades which is not the right concept about hedging at the first place. To do a healthy hedging, you must first know the market trend and hedge only when the market is about to retrace before continuing it's original trend. We are supposed to use hedging to lock our profits not our losses.

Note: You should take Juhanimi's advice. Learn how to use the basics like MA, RSI and volume to identify the trend first. Every successful trader starts his/her journey from losing before making serious profit.

I know what are u talking about. I'm beginner in forex and I'm in similar situation in moment. I can't tell what to do you nor would be good to take my advice but I think it depends of your account as well and if you are willing to take that loss. Is £1000 much for you to loose? If not take a loss, if yes..well...

I'm also hedging gold at the moment, also have few sell positions below 1190 and for now I'm managing to cover losses..even to be in profit overall, but still have that negative saldo. For me gold also seems quite bullish at the moment so my hedge position is little bit stronger than all sell positions.
Hope will be ok...I also quit all other pairs and trading, untill I resolve this one ..hopefully positively

I also respect what others told you, so don't take my opinion seriously...they have more knowledge and experience

GL and join us in skype room, lot of guys there who know better and maybe they could also help...

Gold prices are restricted by the 100-day SMA, near $1210 while the downside support of $1178 becomes important for the yellow metal.

when market opens on monday, what do you guys recon it will open at? same price or because of NFP 20 dollars higher or lower?
