On the downside, 1,215 was the second support, 1,207 the third support. Upside First resistance at 1,242 2nd resistance 1,250.

The difference is that the yen wasn't this weak last year, neither was the euro. Both crosses are in obvious down trends, if those trends continue the DXY could very well break 85 and head higher, its risky to bet against the dollar now.

No I mean how did you decide that those are supports? For example 1180 is an obvious support since it was the last swing low. I don't see anything of significance at 1215 or 1207.

You could be right on the risk of betting against the dollar.

I'd only risk going short the dollar or long gold if I see a reversal on those crosses, but I see nothing now. Its clear blue skies for USD/JPY and the EUR looks set to revisit 1.28 (weak support), followed by 1.22. Could get ugly for dollar shorts soon.

Greetings this is my first time posting to ONLY GOLD! The recommendation I have for the gold traders is this, Identify XAUUSD and the positive or negative correlation between a currency pair. This combined with the movement of the pair, and knowing the strength of the USD will serve as predictive indicators of the direction and movement of the XAUUSD. It is rather easy to do if you have a little knowledge in microsoft excel to identify the positive and negative correlated pairs. If anyone would like to know more feel free to email me.

Good Morning Folks.

As we saw a value below 1219, i think its time for gold to have a bit of reversal today till 1229-1233.
Probably in next couple of week we may see the south pole and then start a fresh journey towards north.

PS: this was my daily analysis, if its wrong pls do correct me so that i will also learn to be more accurate.

1. If you are using metatrader download the history of the XAUUSD to your computer. The time frames you will want to examine is Daily to 15min. To examine positive and negative correlation you will want to do a nested if then statement encapsulated by a countif. For example on the 15 min time frame you want to check if the open is higher than the close if so it was a down day for that pair then you would want to check the same thing for XAUUSD. If both are down then it would be correlated.

2. You would need to do this for every 15 min candle. Sum (All "Y" {correlated}) / Total count of 15 min candles.

3. Any pair with a higher than 90% is strongly positively correlated, and will also be a leading indicator for gold due to the fact that the forex is open 24hrs a day

4. Any pair with a lower than 10% is strongly negatively correlated, and will also be a leading indicator for gold due to the fact that the forex is open 24hrs a day

5. This concept can be automated as well as use as a strong divergence indicator.

Primarily following Golden Seasons. Within these following VVSA (Volatile VSA). IF I'm right, I shall be able to see a clear bottom by next weekend, hopefully earlier than that.
