Without sl you will not get something at forex or other markets trading... then I tried several times and opened real accounts but for small amounts.. some times I dont used SL and you will not believe, but exactly that time market crash me. So people, use SL!

That's true, no trader is going to find certainty in this market..of course if you were to take some of the sales pitches at face value, certainty in forex market seems to be the most common ingredient and every damn EA makes it happen..

Based what some traders that worked at brokerage firm wrote on this forum, I decided to use EA which manages (and hides) my SL and TP from my broker.

Although I don't believe that a broker can move the market so that my SL is taken out my intuition tells me to hide SL via EA.

1. Yes, most of the time I do.
2. It really depends on the situation. Sometimes I really just have to be somewhere else and I can't watch the chart, so I don't feel comfortable leaving it without any means of control.
3. I usually place it around 20-30 pips under the support or above the resistance.

Guys think about this, When the major instatutions put trades on and it goes the wrong way do you think they use a stop!Do you think they wait until they are 300,000 out the back door and it hits their stop and they go oh well we lost 300 k on that one and then start looking for the next trade !or do you think they set about manageing their way out of the position useing other means .Or do you think that stops are the preserve of the small trader because of his lack of knowledge and experience and major players dont use them .Hmmmmm something to think about

Always use a stop loss. Major institutions use them. Only people who will risk their whole account won't bother with stop losses. That is a strategy. It's not a sustainable strategy.

The name of the game is preserving your capital.

Yes i agree always use a stop loss its one way of gauranteeing the loss and so In saying that i would also say always enter a take profit as well because that is the only way you can gaurantee to actually bank a proffit the important word is bank

Don't use them.
Trade within and that allows to hedge into another ccy, add more or hold .

I'm quite new so I've tried with and without stop loss.. but to a newbie i guess it makes no difference in the beginning.. I have one question guys: What is your opinion on trailing stop? It just a new feature I discovered on MT4, and I still don't understand perfectly... Thanks a lot

For me trailing stop is just as bad.

If you are unsure then cut half and run the rest
