{quote} I think that there is an important difference of a stop hunt by the broker who is taking the other side of the trade and wants your money..or a stop loss hunt by one of the big banks loading up their positions and seeking liquidity. When I look at the CME DEC 2014 contract low it is still at 1276.1 http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/meta...ious/gold.html The low at FXPRIMUS was 1267.07..that is almost 9 dollar difference. . Must be because of the technical issue at the CME http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-0...r-jpy-weakness...

My TP didn't hit by less than 0.5 pips. BE out. A lot of profit taking were at that level...
If I were in front of the computer, I would have been out with 20+.
Anyway, it was very much predictable scalping trade for 25 - 30 pips. It happens again and again.

For 4H traders, the following may be noticeable. Potential long opportunity for 50 to 60 pips...

Interesting, should I assume you are counting 10 pips in one dollar?

New Home Sales proved favourable for appreciation of the stubborn metal over an hour ago and what happens?.....it drifts in the opposite direction! This vagary is hard to take and resembles being waylaid ie daylight robbery. I have got to find better ways of protection against a market that is incresingly unpredictable.

Do you think now that the gold will only fall down for the next 4 hours? It is possible to reach 1272?

Long enough to know that gold does what it wants when it wants. Lately the situation has worsened in the stubborn metal moving with alacrity in the opposite direction to the financial market result! After the USA results, instead of appreciating good ol' gold nearly reached its lowest value for the day. The aroma of manipulation is thick in the air. Now I have to devise a better strategy to counter it.

Not usual time to trade for me but if I were awake I would have taken it at open of 22:40 candle (GMT+0). Another good example of easy +25 scalping:

Anything is possible, but there are signs that Gold has likely bottomed in the short term. The thieves that control these markets did a good job of getting people hyped up for an up move and then crushing them with the sell off we've seen. A move into the mid 1300's, or at least 1300, seems to be in the cards. At first we may go lower to the 1250-1260 region as you've pointed out….. None of us know for sure.

I'm expecting a move higher once all this settles, and then people to once again get crushed on the long side, sometime in October-November.

I"m looking at this 240 chart and thinking this has the opportunity to be giant secondary low inverse head and shoulders for a big move up...some near term price patterns on the 30 min helps this bullish view. Don't like the triangle that has formed suggest a stop run wave 5 maybe towards 1272 then sharp reversal, until we can break up through this triangle formation have to respect the downside momentum of the prior leg down. Not sure what the catalyst will be to spark the move up in gold...maybe it's the 2000 SnP all time high profit taking. Hope a few different looks here helps put this current price action in perspective. Good trading all.

This is how my SLs are setup using DCB. The SLs on the lower side are red SLs, more of testing I would say as I don't expect this to go to 1270 today. On the upper side 1285 is GREEN SL. I expect the air to get spiky going forward this week once it begins to show fair PA.
