There's a lot of debate here and elsewhere on the EU and the economics, and in fact world economics and what should and shouldn't be done, Keynes v Hayek and so on.
Read an article recently that may be of interest to some as it makes the point that all of these things are missing the big problem which nobody is trying to deal with or even solve. And that is our world economic system relies on growth, compounded growth, not just earnings or money supply, but also use of resources and population. And that it's this % growth that we seek that ensures that we are destined to fail as it's logically not sustainable. The EU's survival is not going to matter in comparison.
