I have a pending short order on 1306.20 to 1304.80

Is it a good idea to have a short order in this level?

No - it's demo
I trying to learn a behavior of gold

My real acc was 8000 and i lost all - it was good but expensive lesson for me
Now i have to spend a lot time in demo acc before i go again on real account.
Thank you very much for leaving some part of your experience in this thread.

sorry Ash, i trade my live money with capital spreads, if i take a position 10 pips makes me ,£30, or a big lot make £300 , so i am not sure how you work yours out , regards

my 2 cents, I can see that you're using a dangerously high leverage. 15 lots on total. (I back estimated your leverage is around 1:100 in total. )
having said that, it is completely your own call to decide whatever leverage you want.
I used to play high leverage too...but blown my account before so I learned the hard way.
Now I use around 1:10 (which is still quite high) to open position.

where did you get that,, i started 4 years ago, i had 2 demos while i started out made over 300 k in 2 months ,, went live and lost 6k in 2 weeks ,, lol

Because in my mind i was see what will be if it would be real account .
If i'll make similar action in future i will open Jack Daniels and make myself drunk and when i wake up i will check again if it was true what i seen before i drunk

yes good acc, it shows you it can be done , thou the acc balance would of had to of bee a very good acc, to hold the leverage, short close and gone long off the 200, sl on the open target 1318 for now , big lot thou ,, gl

lol you can read my posts i play 2 pc, live and demo, same trade ,, as quick as i can place them,,lol,, same call same amount same win,, and yes same lose too, any body who wins all the time is very very good, or very very , lucky,, i dont know anybody who fits in that category , does any body here ??

yes, very very very 100x lucky. managed to grow 1500% over 3 months until late february winning percentage 91%...with merely support and resistance, RSI, a bit of knowledge about pattern...(I know, most people will not believe the 1500% thingy...I was badly laughed at when I posted on other thread...for those who believe, I tell you it can be done)

I can tell you it was not sustainable...nevertheless it was a very good lesson. Not to take things for granted. I lost my momentum ever since gold dropped from 1388 high(lost 60% my account)...lost how to trade and most importantly lost my confidence and emotional composure...

now slowly building back that confidence and mental toughness...

Your psychology when trading a demo account would be completely different from trading a real account i.e. there is no psychological element to trading demo, real trading is 10% study and 90% psychology, that's why even the smartest people fail.

For example when you're trading a demo... you're more willing to use higher leverage and large drawdowns are not a problem... but with a real account most people would crap their pants if they had a draw down of say -50 000 on a 100 000 account as 100 000 could be their life savings... imagine having to clean floors for another 20 years to save up another 100 000, only to see it disappear in a few minutes.... for that reason I believe there is very little to be learned from demo accounts.

Absolutely..

confidence and also if it is real account, it is different when You loose, emotions and etc..I go out..and try to forget and then 2 days break or just small positions..very small
