Can anyone update me about the short term future for Gold. Will it be going up or take the reverse pattern. As we have observed when there is a tension between US and Syria price of Gold goes higher and after the tension was released Gold goes down again.

Nitsan.. You are a very good technician at reading charts. And you are 100% correct that making a profit is the most important thing to do in this business. Thanks to you I am starting to take a closer look at the gartley pattern.

In your view are their any patterns that you think have stronger follow through than others?

Also, what is your view in regards to the whole Russia, Crimea situation and how it could possibly rile the markets?

Look, when you were saying go short, the price was at 1374 and still going up, that is why it made no sense.

I have no problem with someone going short, but at the time it was a dumb call. Good luck to you if you make money, that's what we are all here for but there is no need to throw your toys from the pram just because you were wrong.

And when you were advising people to go short I said

No one is right 100%
But I was not wrong
Price didnt get my stop
Every short I enter was fine... I stick to my system and my system say shot so I short...and I make money from my short so it cant be "dumb" call as you say
And even if its get to my stop its cant be "dumb call" becuse this call is a call from a very good system.
A "dumb call" can only be if there is no strong technical stuff behind it
And in this short was TRENDLINE+FIBO161.8 +SMA300 +CANDLE STICK PATTERM so its never can call a "dumb call"

FWIW, I dont think you should worry about people like this criticizing your work. In this business, no one is right all the time. Your charts and analysis are intelligent, and that's what matters the most, this is a business of probabilities, not certainties...
Unlike many other people on most threads, at-least you have the courage to publish your views, and publish trading ideas, rather than just following a herd mentality, which opens you (and everyone else who publishes charts) up to criticism from "followers" who often, have nothing original to say...
they find it easier to talk smack when your ideas dont work out, but they contribute nothing of value...
I support your work 100%, and I think you're a good analyst, and look forward to reading more of your work

Hedge Fund Short Covering in Gold is the Story

This story simply will not die as it keep happening - hedge funds continue to cover short positions to an extent far surpassing the amount of fresh, new buying that they are doing.
Last week they covered ( closed out) 4,675 short positions. This week they outdid themselves as they covered a whopping 5,248 shorts made up of both futures and option positions! On the long side, they actually reduced their exposure by some 482 contracts. It is too bad that we cannot see what occurred from Wednesday through Friday. My view is that today's strong rally through overhead chart resistance further cleaned out some more of their short positions in a big way.
Let's again put this in perspective - at the start of this year, the hedgies were sitting with a total of 72,571 outright short positions, futures and options combined. As of this past Tuesday, that number has shrunk to a mere 21,073 or a reduction of 51,498 shorts.
Over this same period, the number of outright longs has increased from 106,675 to its current number of 144,080, for an increase of 37,405 futures and options positions.
Again, the clear driver for gold this year has thus far been short covering as the dominant feature among the biggest specs on the planet.

China to winden yuan trading band

China’s slow grind toward a market-based economy continues with an announcement on Saturday that China will widen the yuan trading band to 2% on either side of the daily reference rate from 1%. The band had previously been widened in 2007 and 2012.
I don’t expect this to have an impact on markets on Monday but it’s a sign that it won’t be too long before FX traders have CNY on their screens.

Hi there fellas,

I am glad that my research and studies have reached a phase where I can gladly say that my foundation has matured to a nice level. I am quite satisfied with my technical analysis. I can do back test, go back in time and nothing seems to be going beyond the scope of my Au-Analytics. While my research and studies will continue to evolve, I really expect to do some good things in future.

I still find it hard to believe that even 7 yrs. back when I joined FF I had this vision that timing (key hrs.) would have a lot to do with my analysis.. heck, I was kinda noob, hardly knew anything. Seasons and similar stuff got added and that's it, nothing new. All this ideology is obviously the reason behind my handle: "ClockTrader", its about timing after all, anybody would dis-agree (edit *) regardless of what system you follow.

I got over 6 demo accounts for practice, been trading them without applying a separate strategy for each. All are green. The one in red belongs to a friend. I took this challenge to fix it, in order to hone my skills, not sure where it'll go, but, its worth trying.

In the next few months, I might add more accounts (already a lot greener). Right now, I need to apply a different strategy to each account. The core of each strategy revolves around Daily Clock Band, Golden Seasons, key hrs etc. You all know what I follow. I never trade news, love news/info though.

I am always open to learn, if you think you have a good system to follow, study or share, feel free to message me.

PS: I would continue to post as less as possible as stated earlier for obvious reasons (and first post; edited often).

Hey Nitsan, just take a breather and relax a little while.. and just continue with whatever u are doing.. i have been trading full time for almost 4 years after coming out from being a trader for a large financial institution for so many years..and same like u, i too believe that making money is the most important thing in forex trading.. dun worry if anybody say u are wrong or right.. at the end, its our account that is filled with cash.. not other ppl's account.. that is more important.. same as u, i finally closed my longs from 1190 and 1280 at 1380 area last friday...
why?.. because my system said so and i follow my ssytem and not anybody can force me not to hold...
there was a few ppl that i dun recognize who message me who told me after i post that i closed my longs on friday saying the market will go up, why so stupid of me to close my long.. i just ignored it but since i am online right now, might as well i tell my reasons..
also. this thread only show words but did not show feelings.. maybe that trader who laugh at u is only joking.. its ok Nitsan, i was also called stupid by ppl who i dun know who only send me messages but dun post inside here..
there are a few tarders inside here that i truly respect because they can show and tell what they believe in their system.. one of them is YOu!! so dun worry, 1 ppl may laugh but maybe 10 others may say thank u to u for your correct calls.. so cheer up and continue with aht u are doing so far

oh btw, For those ppl who told me i am stupid by sending me messages and not posting inside here..well, thank u for the compliment.. for your info, this stupid trader has a reason for closing long positions..
very simple.. remember the inverted H&S on the weekly chart that started at 1181?.. it has a neckline that is around 1380 area.. my "stupid" system said so.. and since my strategy are to close all my longs when it reaches the neckline, i close as per my "stupid" system.. guess what.. this stupid trader who follow the stupid system has almost 40k in profits from my closed positions from 1 standard account and 3 mini accounts.. and that "stupid" money from the" stupid" system that this "stupid trader are all mine inside my accounts.. i wonder those "clever" ppl has that amount inside theirs?.. hehehehehehe.. now i started to short not because i think the market is downtrend not because i believe my "stupid" system said so that gold will begin to retrace before it continue to rise.. yes, it may go up if tensions get hotter in ukraine because investors will choose safe haven in gold than in currencies and etc.. so what?.. at the most, it triggers my SLs and close me out.. no big deal!!! no holy grail in forex that can land u 100% all the time.. but it is your strategy or system that u follow that makes u money almost all the time is actually the "holy grail" for u!! if only saying someone stupid makes money in FF.. then i shall no more do trading and start saying ppl stupid instead if by saying ppl stupid makes me money...

well. in my humble opinion.. gold is finally got out of that downtrend after 2 years.. my honest opinion is gold will be bullish but there will be a lot of obstacle in between.. from a trader point of view.. and from a technical point of view.. gold can push up to the 1400 masses but it can retrace down to as low as 1300 or even 1280 area too.. before proceeding upward again..so it really depends on what type of investors u are looking at madam..
even if u read analysis by top experts.. they have different views on gold for this year.. example, goldman sachs target gold to be around 1150 area this year and franklin sanders target gold reaches 1600 masses this year too

from my stand point of view.. if u are a physical buyer.. franklin sanders always say these words//"gold and silver must be bought"!! he means physical gold and silver.. not spot gold and silver..the world shall have to see whats in store in the coming months as events like wars, riots will lift gold up but theres always the FED and the big time players who very much like to sudden sell big lots to push gold down.. its either taking profits from a long rise in gold or just cleaning up those ppl who entered longs very late..

if u are a tech trader, take note of the charts and follow what your system says.. go long or short and hopefully your system works and u make lots of pips.. if u atr a news tarder or a news breakout trader.. then be sensitive of whats happening in and around the world, press releases, datas like FOMC, NFPs, will be of utmost important to u..

Good to see you and all other who are making money. I remember the time when the price hits 1180 area, majority was saying that it will go to min 1110-1135 area or max to 1000 range and you got Buy position, Good job. Now i see a reversal pattern, majority is saying Buy, lets see where the market moves.

Hmmmm.. 1st thing, it was an obvious short because the PA suggested that the market wanted that price at 50 fibo. level which would be followed by profit taking at that time on a friday (unless something bizzare happens).. 2nd, I was laughing at longs because i don't see fresh buying.. 3rd, Do you mean to say if anyone goes long and posts here after you go short is talking against you? 4 and most important, are you jealous because i have adele?

yups.. i totally agree that it will be complicated for gold next week as not only this but fomc also in the line.. if u are long or short.. trade light sir and protect by using SLs.. if u are not in positions.. then all the better as gold will paint a clearer picture soon enough.. just my humble opinion only.. cheeers!!
