holding shorts 1275-65 ( SL 1281) ..however all indicators pointing bullish ...ahead FOMC excepting volatility placing some pending orders at 1230-1225 ..SL 1209 TP Open ....good luck to all.. happy trading

it looks like 1250-49 is a good place to buy. I expect more buyers during Asian session and not much from FOMC tomorrow especially following a string of mixed data.

Price has been currently trapped with SMA 50 & 200 (H1) since yesterday..
Until it breakouts (most likely after FOMC), I'll just wait and see..

what about India's interest hike...don't you think that would bode well for more gold buying? and also as a means to fight domestic unstoppable inflation?

My trades have never ever ever relied on news. I love general news though & take US new release as time triggers. My analysis rests on PA, my clock settings, session open-close timings, lunar cycles, seasons etc.

The rate hike is main headline in today's "Economic Times" paper, that is to contain inflation. We got elections ahead in a few months, so you know. As for Gold buying by Indians, that is only & only triggered by seasons & festivals & rest assured no major buying will take place until May-2014, here at least. Gosh, I can't believe I'm discussing news

Thanks ClockTrader. I see your approach. I understand the seasonality in India as well in the rest of the world but more often than not conservative individuals buy when it is cheaper or easier rather than when it is needed. However, I am sure your strategy is supported by historical evidence.

Another thing, if Bernanke did all the things right I am sure that most of the FED gold paper expires today along with his mandate.

I missed a few points & had to fix my Golden-Seasons strategy. Nevertheless, Golden-Seasons theory in general is intact. As for historic evidence, check the chart att..

"Buy in June, Sell by/in Jan" seems to work just fine. Arrow-up is June & Arrow-Down is Jan.

You might be right, though U.S. news has been mixed lately. Nonetheless, USD should see growing strength over next 6 months as emerging markets face stronger headwinds. See Russian Ruble today...

As mentioned in the Asian session, I could see a possible climb till 1261 from 1252, but, I couldn't see 1268 coming, I should have broadened my view. Gold is in a very edgy position, PA ahead could very challenging, whether anyone of you goes long or short, my advise would be to play safe & smart, play light.

Personally, on my technical perspective, I wouldn't even be able to consider shorts unless we had a daily close below 1230?

Its gonna be a rough ride no doubt but personally I am just going to be trying to catch any decent pullbacks and build my base of longs as mentioned at the beginning of this year.
