I haven't seen that platform, but tradingview.com has very nice charting tools. I'd love to have those tools in marketscope.

Thanks Jason. Is there a bank guarantee program that you guys offer? After the MF Global fiasco, I've definitely become more concerned with this. I came pretty close to opening an account with them.

Can you give an example of where you see "no evidence of gaps in some instruments, which are there in MT4 demo accounts" ? I want to make sure that I understand the exact problem you are describing, so I can ask our tech specialists to investigate it for you.

Hi Tk5,

We're always open to new platforms. However, since there's a cost both in time and money associated with linking to any new software, we have to make sure there is sufficient interest from traders. Was there a particular feature that attracted you to cTrader that you couldn't find in the current platform options for FXCM clients?

Also a question about FXCM platforms, do you support Multicharts? I don't see it listed on FXCM but have heard that you do.

Hi Freemen,

The NFA action you mentioned from 2011 had to do with positive slippage not being passed on in full when transactions were offset with liquidity providers prior to 2010, when FXCM made enhancements to our platform to pass on all positive slippage.

Since 2010, FXCM clients have received positive slippage whenever it's available even while some forex brokers do not offer this till today, and instead use practices such as re-quotes to the disadvantage of their traders. There are no re-quotes or dealer intervention when trading with FXCM. Your orders are filled dependent on liquidity and can experience positive or negative slippage. Unfortunately for traders that do get re-quotes, their broker is more than happy to fill them at the price they request when the market is moving against them, but re-quotes them with a worse price when the market moves in their favor.

Have you ever experienced a re-quote in your favor for a better price or received positive slippage on a limit when spread betting? With FXCM, our traders get no re-quotes and benefit from positive slippage. We even teach our clients techniques to help our them maximize positive slippage and minimize negative slippage.

I understand. This is data you've purchased.

Now, is it provided to FXCM "as is" or can you ask your providers for updated and corrected data. I can't understand why they skipped several months per year in their data.

I thought that might have been what you were referring to when you mentioned gaps. As I mentioned in my response to your previous post, this is currently a tech limitation with the Marketscope charts. They were originally designed exclusively for the 24-hour-a-day forex market which has no interday gaps during the week. Our developers are looking to address this limitation so that interday gaps on CFDs are reflected on the charts as they are on MT4, but I don't have a specific date yet on when this update will occur. I'll keep you posted when I receive more information.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've asked our developers to follow up with the data providers regarding the gaps you identified in the historical data for gold.

Hi Jason.

Has FXCM any plans to add Bitcoin trading or deposit/withdrawal?

I withdrawn all my money from my (pretty big) FXCM account to trade bitcoins. But I would also like to trade EUR/CHF if possible. So I looked into Plus500 and AvaTrade, which have both Forex and Bitcoin CFDs. But ForexPeaceArmy reviews indicate that they scam you. So now I'm looking into eToro, which also has Bitcoin CFDs. If they seem legit enough, I will open a (big) account there.

I would love if FXCM would offer Bitcoin CFDs, or at least Bitcoin deposit/withdrawl methods. But I'm not holding my breath on the later, since it seems to fail short of standard AML methods (you can't know for sure if the sender/receiver of bitcoins is really the owner of the account).

You could start with just offering buying (and then closing) only, with no leverage. So no shorting in the first phase. This way FXCM would not carry any risk or have to borrow bitcoins for shorting.

So please bubble up that there is interest in bitcoin (real or CFDs) trading on FXCM.

Hi Card,

FXCM clients with at least $500,000 in equity can request a custodial trust account in their name at Bank of America. Funds in such an account are FDIC insured.

Hi Adal,

Thanks for telling me about your interest in trading or funding with Bitcoin. As you mentioned however, there are still concerns regarding AML when it comes to Bitcoin, so at least for the time being, there are no plans to offer it on our platform. I will keep you posted on this forum thread should that change.
