It just created a high of ~1328, possibly I missed the train, yet, I'll wait until tomorrow & then enter longs for long term using a Daily Chart.

Hello everyone ..I can see so much bullish here ..please share your views ..why are you looking for long . Physical buying ..debt ceiling....US shut down..no tapering ...etc etc ...won't last long ....fundamentals are hyper bearish for gold .. ..my self ..iam holding shorts since 1433 with heavy lots ..looking for $1000 below .in coming months.

Hey Santoo,

If u look a few post earlier I posted a link to my blog where I debated the gold. I am a fundamental trader and this time is very difficult for me to understand what gold is up to and that's why I have 2 pending orders: one to buy if it's going to break to the upside and another one to sell if it's going to break the support. From a fundamental point of view the things are like this:
1. USA entered in their second week of the shutdown but investors don't seem to be worried. They don't get aggressively into safe havens and they don't buy gold to protect their money so if gold did not made a HH now then when? This is BEARISH for gold.
2. Everyone expected FED to taper in September but they did not. Gold made a big bullish candle in the day FOMC announced NO TAPER but the next day investors canceled the earnings for gold. Why ??? Because their expectations were to see maybe in October the taper? Or November? Well because of this government shutdown I don't think we will see any taper this year. This is BULLISH for gold.
3. China's economy is slowing down, India got hit very hard this year and they lost an important part of their reserves in their tentative to defend the INR so the physical demand of gold of 2 of most important buyers should be slowing down too. This is BEARISH for gold.
4. An US default I think is IMPOSSIBLE to happen because if that happens we will have a GLOBAL default and Lehman Brothers will be like a summer warm wind next to the default hurricane but if the IMPOSSIBLE will happen then the GOLD will be the first destination for investor's money and again this is BULLISH for gold.

So Santoo as you can see the fundamentals are not giving a clear image of what gold is up to. And looking at the charts (daily) I see this uncertainty by a sort of a range trading lately. But once this uncertainty will vanish the gold will make his move. If you ask me I think there are 60% chances to see the gold dropping further and 40% chances to see the gold getting back on highs.
Buy when everyone else is selling and sell when everyone else is buying !

I burnt my fingers earlier due to Govt restrictions on funds flowing out of India. I've been too paranoid lately. I'll move the SLs upward using my analytics as I add long positions.

You might want to read the first post of this thread to understand why I'm so secretive about the ifs & buts and the fundas. I think others won't like to share their secret recipes either. In first place why would anyone?

PS: Just added two more longs, moved all SLs in the range 1280 - 1290

Gold currently @ ~1322, as per my calculus, the second bottom (on weekly chart) is visible. First bottom in June fits perfectly in my seasonal strategy as explained on Page 15 of this thread & so does the 2nd bottom.

Current economic and political scenario is a gold bug's dream, and yet? No taper, no budget, gov shutdown (huge part of economy), debt ceiling, $USD lowest level in almost a year, gold should be well over $1400, maybe even $1500. Based on the o ld paradigm, that would have been a no brainer. But its just not happening. This 2 y ear downward trend in gold has, at least for the time being, taken the shine off, so to speak, for gold as a hedge. and of course gold is surging!!! Wait, sorry, gold is actually dead .its very very manipulated . Mess in Washington is supporting gold at this range,.whatever the gold target fixed though under $1000 ...good luck

the price action seems like it can go to 1260 within next week... lets see...
