{quote} Have you been stopped on your 1298 and 1310 shorts at 1337 that you mentioned on August 8th?
Ignored
I got out of both at 1,305. Took at loss on current trades, but was in very light as was waiting for price action to move below 1,310. Looks like Philly Fed report has now moved market range higher. On sidelines for now as I think it might inch closer to 1,400 before coming down.

Glad to hear it didn't cost you I only mention it because if you only post part of a trade people might think that only the profitable ones get referred to again......

if youre trading with a macro fundamental view, you ought to consider approaching the trade in a way that eliminates market noise. your treshold for loss should be higher. just my thoughts.

anyway

regret clearing the longs!
now offers below 350 are looking lucrative.

figures...

Thanks guys, today gold led the moves. Amazing push up :-)

I'm not thinking of shorting it. Although I think the game is now near on the bears and must see what will happen now.

You're absolutely right. Much of the trading right now is just summer noise, especially with Europe on holiday. The real action will begin in September.

I trade gold in 2 accounts. One is a shorter term with tighter stops. The other is with a much longer view (6 months+). Right now, just watching as it looks like gold could push up to 1,400 though might be some profit taking after U.S. news today.

After it peaks out next week, I expect it to fall like that Red Apple. Lets see how it treats investors like me. I hope I play it well.

First the 1,388, and possibly to 1,420, though 1,400 will be tough resistance. Will look for shorts from this area. May not make a new low, but possibly back down towards 1,300.

Interesting that John Paulson finally closed 50% of his position and reports are that Soros sold more as well.

Yes but you have to take into an account of where the Japanese and Chinese are moving their reserves to. They have been selling US assets.

Agreed. Over the long term, gold should move higher, but for the intermediate term...or until inflationary pressures are back...I think it is likelier to be down further. That could be why Paulson decided to dump now.
