Download the History for the pair you want. to do this start Mt4, Press the F2 key, Chose which currency pair you want to download, and the time Frame if you want from 1989 choose Monthly. and then Download. ( although i dont think that metaquote has Tick history from 1989.)

If you download thru history center (F2), this will NOT be Oanda data! It will be a poor quality data.
I found a penny today. That's +100 pips for me.

OANDA must follow a forex regulatory policy on how you close your trades

Starting May 30, 2011, OANDA is introducing “First In First Out” (FIFO), a forex trading policy that complies with National Futures Association (NFA) regulations. If you keep multiple open positions of the same size and same currency pair, this new trading policy may mean important changes to how you manage these trades.





What is FIFO and what does it mean to my trading?

In forex trading, FIFO is a requirement that you must close the first (or oldest) open trade when there are several open trades of the same pair and equal value.

What will happen when I try to close a trade?

You can tell which trades are oldest in the Trades table when you sort it by ticket number; the older trades have the lower ticket numbers.

Was looking to possibly open an oanda account. Was wondering how long they have had the MT4 up and running and also if anyone was experiencing any data or trading issues with their MT4 integration? Thanks all!!!

you can rum both plattforms with 1 acc. i like the fxtrade plattform and have the mt4 as backup..last time fxtrade was down and mt4 running.

I tried to bring up the website www.oanda.sg since 3pm (an hour and a half ago). Till now, it keeps saying that there is a connection reset.

I don't have a live account with them (only a demo) and was planning to go live with them. But looks like that is a bad idea now.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Am using Starhub.

within 15 month living in thailand now i had two issues with a live account that i couldnt log in for several hours. just yesterday it was the second time. It was not possible to log in and as well not possible to open www.oanda.sg

not nice.

I find fxTrade became much more stable lately. I remember it crashing during news very often in December. It is still slower than MT4 (I have them open side by side) during high volatility like news, but it does not crash any more.

Apart from the few times I could not connect (it's here in thread), everything is great.

again, you can try the m.fxtrade.com (a mobile version of fxtrade with no charts) if you need to close a trade. Don't know if it works for Singapore.

And you should log in through your desktop without a need for an internet browser. fxTrade will load much faster and no need to open a browser which again saves time: http://fxtrade.oanda.com/trade-forex/fxtrade/desktop
I found a penny today. That's +100 pips for me.

Hi, because of the FIFO rule. Try this one 1st pos. 10.001, 2nd --> 10.002, 3rd -->10.003 . Found it in my own brain and also here

Yeah US regulation is a pain in the ass. It's the reason I left American brökers. Fortunately there ARE great brökers outside the so called free world (no matter what some American traders tell you, I've noticed some of them seem to think the only "safe" brökers are American ones). Just stay away from small market makers and Russian bucketshops.

How much do you plan to start with? $1000 should be enough to get you into a decent ECN. $2500 or more is even better as you have more options (we're talking ECN of course). Low (raw) spreads and 100:1 leverage guaranteed.

I downloaded oanda mt4 yesterday. Spreads ok as always.
Problem however if i open a trade. I DO NOT GET the price i click on. Not even close. There is a delay of about thirty seconds before i am put into the market. Slippage on every single trade. The exact same when i try to close my position.

Shouldn't the demo attract clients by working flawlessly???

I rather stay with Alpari. First impressions is always lasting impressions....

I am not impressed with Oanda's Mt4 at all!!!!!

Your right the Demo Does have slippage, But that standard with MT4 No matter where you go. I traded with alpari uk Once before and lost Quite alot of Trades because of slippage. But with Oanda You can trade with Fxtrade Which i have had about 5 Or so slippage in all the years i've traded with them and Those Occurred During news Events.

I am really tired of these brokers and their games. Sick and tired to say the least.
I am very good scalping this market. I did 25 trades on monday, only losing two of them.
I NEED A DECENT BROKER.

They seem to be the same. You cannot trust one of them. I was trading with FxPro for a long time. Everybody knows they allow scalping. Last week they started re-quoting me. This is when you start losing trades.
I really don't know where to go with my live acc......

I suggest You try the Fxtrade first before making a Judgement MT4 just came to Oanda around Feburay they make server adjustments every weekend so It's Not perfect but I strongly suggest fxtrade. I use it and save Mt4 and the Iphone App as Backup
