When did you get this spread ? I traded previous week but didn't see it , most of time 0.3-0.7 pips spread on EU , scalping and fulltime trading.

The attached chart shows eurusd 5 minute timeframe spread, light green is 5 minute bar minimum, dark green is 5 minute bar average, and red is 5 minute bar maximum. During london session spread is around 0.8 - 0.9 pips for the 5 minute average. Chart goes back to the 31st March, the maximum spread since then has been 130 points (13 pips)

Nice chart rooicol, consistent tight spreads from gomarkets. If they could stop the odd days they blow out they would be the best mt4 broker out there..

Are you sure you're not getting 196 confused with 19.6?

Hi, This occured a few months back and was an extreme example...

I no longer trade with Go but i do still have an open account. I will log the spreads around news times this week and post them on here....so you can see what im talking about

and no i mean 196 pips ...not piplets.

I remember that. That was off the back of the earthquake in Japan, i remember Chris explained what happened.

Since I am a scalper I never get effected by these events. I can see how it upset some traders. Execution and normal market spread wise gomarkets are top notch from my experiences.

Hi I have just had my live account refuse me the ability to set a stop loss?
When i try a box appears that says ''trade context busy''?
What is this about ...... I was lucky and rang them at 7.49 got a guy in holland that said to re start the system , this seemed to work but hell whats going on

Hi,

'Trade context is busy' is a common MT4 problem which is brought about by the over use of DLL files on your platform/computer. it can happen at any time but is normally likely to occur if you have a large number of EAs or custom indicators that use DLL files. The longer your platform is running, the more the DLL files will buildup and make this more likely. restarting the platform as you were told to do is the only way to make this go away and it is also question number one on our troubleshooting guide: http://www.gomarketsaus.com/faqs/troubleshooting/.

I would always recommend that you regularly restart your platform and that keeping it running continuously is likely to lead to this problem occuring from time to time.

Will I be getting the same maximum leverage i.e. 1:500 that I'm having in my Learner a/c when I open a standard account?

i've just ended a cht with GoMarkets, and thay answerd to my question:

i have a sell @1,4480 with stop loss @ 1,4520 and tp @ 1,4460
friday eur usd will close @1,4500

on sunday opens eur usd has a gap of 50 pips, it opens @ 1,4550,
well GoMarkets says that stop is trigger @1,4550. nothing strange.
BUT if markets opens @ 1,4450 my take profit it's execute @ 1,4460!!! a price never hit by the market!!! and so gomarkets earn 10 pips from my trade.

same for pending orders
i have a sell pending @ 1,4520, if markets opens @1,4550 my sell is execute @1,4520!!!!!!
not a price hit by the market, but a bug in Mt4, gomarkets execute my trade at a REAL PRICE of 1,4550 (it is IMPOSSIBLE to open it @ 1,4520) and earn 30 pips.

what is the point to your fascinating story? are you bothered that on one hand go markets will open you at a more favorable price to you when the market opens, and in the same respect will close you out if it goes against you?

if so, would you prefer that they ignore your orders entirely since, truth be told, the market never hit those prices? so gaps over stoplosses are always a possibility, and the same goes for take profits and any pending orders.

or are you simply telling us what you found out? that if price transitions from one side of an order to the other side it gets triggered, regardless of if the price transacted at this price or not... ?

or are you just letting us know that you like to leave orders open and or pending over the weekend which is hardly a good thing, ever?

you are not making any sense. i can't be bothered digging-up stock market execution rules to remember the details, but i'm fairly confident that what you have said is simply incorrect. don't use mt4 if you don't like how the 'game' is played (not being sarcastic either). messing with a market that is not currently open is asking for trouble anyway. the prices you gave in your example as the types an intraday trader would be looking at, so it doesn't hold that you wouldn't be squared away by the weekend on all positions.

i gave that prices only for examples, operating advices are not welcome
i work with hedged positions, if one take the stop at a price the other one will trig the tp at a worst price, it's a problem for me, on friday eavening i have to delete all tp and all pending and then insert them again on sunday, with 2-3 orders is ok, but if i have 10-15 orders it will be a lose of time.
