I just connected to it to test and it seemed fine, but obviously no trading being sunday afternoon.

Hello Gomarkets,

It is a start but it is not what customers need. Clients will need data for all time frames/all pairs. Also, the data should be in .hst and .fxt format so that MT4 backtest can read it directly that would make it very customer oriented to where it can be backtested without any conversion.

Hi Jeff,

This is just a starting point. We will be adding more time frames and data shortly and are looking at the best way to get the data in the formats requested.

Yes, I have been told that all data centres are fully integrated. The enxt upgrade will be coming soon which will involve the relocation and upgrade of our trading servers to Sydney which should also increaes speed for many.

Hello Gomarkets, I'm a new european client (real).
I've some questions.

1 - Why, opening a demo account I get a ping from server "Go Markets Demo" of about 750 ms (really) and if I ping your internet website that is also located in Australia i get a ping of about an half ?

2 - The message "Old tick" on Metatrader log, some time ago was only occasional, now is the standard, many, many time any hour.

3 - Very great the idea to offer download of 1 minute data, but quotes from 19 March 2010 are about what I can download directly doing PgUp on a normal chart of a Gomarkets account.
What we need (all ea developers and some advanced users) are historical real data at least form January 2009.
Metaquotes, due to the fact that they want promote Metatrader 5, has decided to do active sabotage of MT4, so they offer for download, actually, historic data with holes as big as a week for 2010 period.
So your initiative is very good, but could be done considering point I've exposed, this could be also a marketing strategy.
In backtest report the broker name is always present, and Gomarkets name could be the more present.

At the end, I think really Gomarket is an honest broker, I believe that has only technical problems due to a fast growing number of customers.

I think I also started out with the same ping problems but eventually, it eased out when I changed my VPS provider. Gomarkets have their fair share of issues plaguing their services but overall, I believe they're among the best non-dealing desk brokers around.

Unfortunately our license does not allow us to give any advice on taxation when trading with us. I would recommend checking with your own tax advisor or accountant. Your statement that can be printed from the platform will be good enough for your reporting.

Hi, sorry for not answering sooner!

The trading server is currently located in New Zealand, but because of the safety restrictions in place on it people can't ping the server directly, so this may not be exactly genuine.

Old tick is something which every MT4 broker will get if they have a feed like ours, i.e. a floating spread coming from banks and institutions. With hundreds of ticks per minute, you will often see old tick, sometimes even when not trading. (I loaded an MT4 demo for an ECN last week and without putting any indicators or EAs on it, I got around 70 old tick messages in an hour or so spread over 4 charts!) The only way to improve it is to get a faster connection to the server, but even if you plug into the back of it, they may not go away!

Unfortunately the trading server does not hold data past a certain point, meaning the data goign back further than on our site is not really recoverable. Obviously the MetaQuotes data would not be entirely representative of the live prices clients would have experienced with us. I will see what we can do with regards to more data and in different formats though.

I have supported you in the past and have been trialling a small live account for a few months now, but this delay of order execution is getting on my nerves big time now.
Entering or exiting an order with 6+ seconds delay (always against me lately) is inexcusable by now, and only experienced before on a well known dodgy broker.
Fix it !!!

I'm currently on a demo account for the very purpose of checking out Go Markets. Everything is fine except for this delay. Sometimes it ranges up to 5-6 seconds delay. Other times virtually instant, but mostly delays.

This will keep me from going to a live account (or at least funding it) and it really needs a resolution. It really won't make any difference how many times a rep calls me and makes with the nice words. I need to see consistent performance of the trading platform and fast order execution.

My suggestion - find out where the problem is and fix it - fast.
4 traders viewing now
