Understandable, it happens mate...

Frustration is also evident by my post...i apologize as well..

Perhaps you can use the ignore function if there's one available on this forum. This should make it easier to not get frustrated by those individuals that bother you.

Their system rebuilt has done nothing for me either. There is still a lag of about 3 seconds to open or close positions.

How is the latency when modifying orders like moving stops? I think that if modifying orders are not affected by latency issues but opening and closing order are then the feed may be manipulated.

Have had an account with them for the past few months and today my AUD/NZD account was instantly wiped out, just prior to the RBA announcement. What's odd is that the price that wiped me out (1.30087) is not shown on the chart or the M1 history in Metatrader. Additionally it doesn't seem to have occurred on my other account with gomarkets as no trades were opened or closed during the spike. Ditto with my other LatitudeFx account - no evidence of such a spike on either the chart or the price history. Did anyone else experience this? I've email gomarkets for an explanation as this has just cost me $10k....

My 5 min chart showed a high of 29097 and a low of 28090 at the news.

Weird day for aud/nzd there are huge spikes on FXCM and Esignal aswell.
I would see what Go come back with but thats the problem with STP brokers who don't have a dealing desk it can be out of their hands, sometimes a good old fashioned market maker has an appeal lol

Sorry for that loss. Ouch. It sounds like they jacked the spread at the news. I presume you were short, and got hit by the offer? That is a sign of a huge spread of course, but it's not unheard of either.

I was (and still am) short AUD/NZD, so I've been following the price action. I see a high BID price of 1.2940 at that time. So, a 68 pip spread (1.2940-1.3008) on this pair at an interest rate announcement, if even just for a second, is entirely plausible I'm afraid. Your price mentioned of 1.30087, if an offer price, wouldn't show on the chart, as charts show the bid prices. I take you're aware of that, but just in case.

Would still be interested how they address this for you though...

You can set up the ask line on all MT4 charts.. I do it on Go so I can see where and what the spread is at all times.

Yes exactly; I am assuming he didn't know that, as he mentioned not seeing his stop out price on the chart. But although you can see the ask in real time that way, unfortunately it doesn't show in the history that I know of if going back over the chart...

A friend of mine who also uses Go Markets said the spread for aud/usd reached 56 pips wide during rate decision. I did not notice it as I have too many platforms open. Going from this the spread on aud/nzd would have been just as wide or even wider. Just goes to show that it is getting difficult to see any advantage of trading with this broker. They have wide spreads on top of delayed execution.

this is the draw back of STP brokers. happens to them all it's why i don't trade though news releases.

That sounds ridiculous I use fxopen which is also australian, spreads are fixed and small.

I've had no problems with them and am currently trading three accounts from Sydney.

As for spreads, they are small during peak hours and vary around news. That's the way of the world

the word is that fixed spread brokers basically stop accepting orders around news time, so instead of a wide spread you get no trade ability whatsoever.

there is no way to cheat the system.

that's not true, not for the fixed spread brokers I have traded with..... as I used to straddle the news with no fill issues.

i agree, dont know what the fuss is about.
I have used them and similar companies for a while no major issues, seems like traders remorse to me.
there are only 2 things to consider, you can either use a MM and be at the mercy of the dealing desk (sometimes can go in your favour as there are some out there who have great prices) or have genuine fx prices. your choice but to be honest trading aud/nzd during news time is a bit dumb, check the spreads with currenex and e-sig you will see they are the same, as mentioned earlier my Esig was the same as fxcm and GO so they seem to be on the level.

Yep - I do know about the Ask line - had it enabled. It never jumped, or if it did, it happened so fast it didn't render. I know the price feeds vary from broker to broker, but I was very surprised to see nothing remotely similar on the chart provided by my other broker. Gomarkets replied to my query saying this is normal around a RBA announcement. I understand the risks of forex trading, I'm just bemused at this annomalous spike that isn't replicated or even hinted at elsewhere. Is there anything you guys would recommend I request from Gomarkets support to shed some more light on this event?
