Although this thread is open to discussion by all means, it is mainly constructed to convey some informative content in terms of real experiences and hopefully some decent trading 'wisdom'.
First things first:
I am a professional trader in the sense that I trade for a living - and that for over a decade. I have in fact traded for longer but I don't count the time in which I lost money to make experiences as 'professional'. I now trade a relatively large acc. of my own.
Like most aspiring traders (in the retail sector), I started off relatively small - not too small. But as my avatar states: everything is relative. Account size relative to what people expect to gain from it is one of the biggest problems, hence the thread.
I have a feeling that for some here on FF I will be stating the obvious and running the risk of sounding arrogant: I don't need any advice myself - I have been there. For all others, take this as an opportunity to pick as much as you see fit from the discussion for your benefit.
Having only a limited amount of aspects to cover, I won't rush through it in order to give the participants enough time to have their say. Besides, I live in the GMT time zone (UK) and active participation on my side will be limited up to mid-day since outside my trading I am reading for a science degree.
Finally, I intend to wait for some respones to this post just to find out whether there will be enough interest in the topic as such, before wasting my time as well as yours. (this post excluded, of course) If there is sufficient interest, I will start posting actual material from early next week.
