Micro accounts ( $0.1 per pip ), be warned soon, unless you opt out so don't miss the e-mail to opt out.

Although claiming lower margin requirement and 30-40% lower spreads.

But if the single biggest order i can place is $1 per pip, I'm not interested as I generally trade $1 - $4 per pip currently and placing 4 seperate orders sounds like hassle.
Nothing to it, but to do it!!! Stick to the plan FOOL!!!!

... This gives smaller traders more options in their account. If you want to trade $4, trade 4 lots. However now you can trade 3.5 lots if you wanted. Or 3.8 lots. You will still be able to trade 1, 2, 3, 4 mini lots. See how those options work?

It allows smaller accounts to have better margin management.

well said. any account under roughly 25,000 should be using micro lots for better position sizing and risk management. it also frees you to scale out of positions much more effectivly. many stay with this with even with accounts much larger than 25,000. much much larger.

Yes, I have demanded micro lots for 50k accounts. Why settle for less options? I monitor the percentage of my account in the market constantly and like to have it exact if possible.

i just called them up today, they told me the Metatrader 4 is not up and really. is anybody else already using mt4 with FXCM yet?

I spoke to them a few months ago and they told me they'd be ready by Summer at the latest.

I highly doubt it to be honest.

I am evaluating some brokers and FXCM was one of them. I called them last week asking about MT4 and they said several weeks.

Are you talking about demo accounts? I'm still waiting for the demo accounts to be ready.

I thought they had live MT4 accounts for more than a month. I don't personally have a live account with them but some people in this thread said they had one. I've seen people on several forums talking about their new live MT4 accounts. Is FXCM going backwards now?

I beleive current clients with FXCM are able to use MT4. They are just not adding clients to MT4 on either demo or live at least according to customer service as of a week ago.

I have download the demo software of dbfx and amazed to see that it was also same as fxcm's trading station2. I heard that dbfx is actually fxcm. But i was woundering that there are lot of broker's using Mt4 platform like Alpari, fxdd, Fxpro , Odl etc but everyone have a seprate entity with same Mt4 Platform. So same is the case with dbfx as it's a Deutsche Bank & working since from 1981.
But strange that both dbfx & fxcm open at the same time, identical in every way. Same quotes with same software?

In an interview, the CEO claimed that he does not see the need to show a little more than the required minimum, when the rest of the funds can be used for other purposes.

Basically, we'll never know how much they really have.

That's my only complain with them.

I am surprised nobody talks about them in here, probably because they do no advertise like other big brokers do.

And btw, I am a profitable trader who places an average of 1 trade per day in all market conditions and no problems with them at all.

I gotta be honest and say that once my current acct reaches $10,000.00, I will most likely try out Deutsche Bank, simply because I want more peace of mind (they are huge). But I will still keep my MGForex acct open to hedge my bets.

FYI....To be nothing but helpful, if you don't know your brokers, you should not be looking for high leverage either. Only you really care about your own money.....spend some time on the phone talking to actual brokerage houses.

I just recently made money with FXCM and tried to close a profitable position and I get this message that says Access Violation so I couldn't close the position. I contacted them and they said they would fix it and it shouldn't happen again but low and behold I tried closing the position again and the same thing happened. Does a trader need to put up with such bad service? Anybody have similar experience with this broker? I'm about ready to look for a new broker.

here here... haha.... happens all the time, platform freezes, have to restart the platform and try logging and and restart and try logging in until it works... but by that time, the market's turned around on you..

google "earn forex" and "forex peace army" etc. and find more horror stories... hehe, i've found out 3 years too late, but it doesn't matter, i'm going long term now, save my brain cells...
