I haven't had any problems today, typically when I do have a problem though it's because I either have to clear my java cache (control panel > java > clear java cache) or have to clear my cache and log back in.

Cant get in on any browser...

Not sure what to tell you, I just logged out and was able to log back into my live account. Also did the same with my demo account.

Perhaps you should try and either call them or jump on the support chat. Maybe their support reps can help you a little better.

fixed, no idea what was wrong, but it loaded on freeproxy so I guess there was a breakdown somewhere between Oanda and me. Thanks

Had that happen the other day during the big EURUSD drop. The route between me (Comcast) and Oanda died somewhere, but others were able to get on fine.

have a deal desk...

i have an account with MBT and love there non deal desk setup, but i need a broker that has an auto stop and reverse on positions for a longer term system i run 24 hrs...

Oanda's trades are completely automated, so there's no one there approving or disapproving the trade, or any requotes. Their pending orders can stay until filled if I remember correctly. Only on rare cases have they told me that an order was filled incorrectly, and in such cases it was an obvious huge false spike, and they would try to fill it at some time near then at as close of a price as they could. But keep in mind that as good as they are (and I do like them) they are still a bucket shop. For my current trading style I prefer to use an ECN.

1. what is Box Resale Value ? how does it function ?

2. we can;t LONG and SHORT at the same pair in open trade ? (meaning can only LONG or SHORT , but cannot both)

3. Margin percent, what is the normal value you used ? (i want to know at what value a MC will happen)

1. I've never done much with boxes.

2. You can go long and short at the same time if you want, but you have to open a sub account to make the other trade in. Personally I've never understood why anyone would want to go both ways with the same broker. Because no matter what direction it moves, you are negative the spread for both trades combined.
3. You can play around with it on a demo account to get more familiar with what you can do, but in general, if you max out your leverage I think a margin call happens somewhere around 125-150 pips negative, or when your open trades are negative about half or your balance. But I would strongly discourage you from using that high of leverage anyway, especially when you are first trading. That is only for gamblers (who almost always lose in the long run) and for those who are highly experienced and have a specific strategy where it can come in handy, and they are only in trades for a very short time period.

I have a question. Is it true that Oanda will suspend your real account when you haven't traded during the last 12 months? I couldn't find the terms & conditions.

why don't you just email them and ask? it's not such an embarrassing question that you have to ask here first.

If I had to throw out an answer, I would imagine if you opened an account and never funded there is probably a timeline before they'll delete the unfunded account. However if they have your money, I doubt they would close your account for inactivity. Someones earning interest with it sitting in their account vs yours.

Oanda pays interest on unused margin by the second and of course they charge or pay interest on a trade.

What is everyones thoughts on OANDA brokerage. They seem to have a low pip spread and seem reputable. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hello traders. Need a bit of input here. Nedd a bombardment of quick opinions on this brokerage. Good, bad, anything. Anyone encounter serious issues with them, is the Eur/Usd spread really 1 pip or less, is their trading platform reliable, is order execution consistant. How about any slippage fiasco's? Am currently an Interbank client, just trying to base a decision of viable responses from you good people. Some may recognize my screen name from my thread, if so Hi to all of you! Oanda is the easiest platform to learn, it's easy on the eyes and yes their spread on the EUR/USD is 0.9 pips most of the time. I have never had a problem with their fills. The one thing I don't like about them is that their price moves and then the chart follows the move about a second afterwards. This can be a pain in the but.

Am not trying to get a rating on 100 different brokerages. I have a business decision to make and simply need some of the pro's and con's from traders with regards to Oanda exclusively.
