As they prepare to meet in 10 days on interest rates, Federal Reserve officials are very divided over a key question: How worried they ought to be about the U.S. labor market. Be careful not to jump to correlation conclusions that do not involve direct causation.
In the free-trade global era that King Don is seeking to dismantle, division of labour and productivity meant that the labour-intensive industries were being outsourced already.
The stats are not yet in as to whether a future, real AI, as opposed to the current super-efficient MALLM's, will actually destroy jobs or in fact create others. Did the WWW reduce total labour, for instance, and wheterh it did or not is it even worthwhile trying to track it for correlation?

As long as they continue to make money. Punters will buy them. Interesting times indeed. The Tech sector has been carrying the USA for some time now. Without it, the economic picture would be extremely different.

I do not see how the FED can make a decision if the data that is relied upon is not available? It is similar to AI, only as good as the data it receives.
