so, the table below shows few data I need, so to know what I am doing and when. Then of course the journal became very important now with prop but these are just main data.



First payout was denied.
second approved.
next will be denied since a trade went out of the 30% rule. My mistake because I had in my mind the 50% but on friday the account was back below the 10.2k profits.
(btw… on a NFP day, and big impact Trump things, I was trading NQ with a larger than my usual size. )

i could trade this period to build the account to a 15k (hopefully) and consider it my personal safety net, so next payouts should be above that line.

I said it million times after securing 6 figures from Apex.... just follow rules they are slow on payout as compared to others but THEY ARE STILL KING WITH BIG PAYOUTS (20k, 30k, 40k etc....). Never heard anyone else paying these numbers consistently..... Only tradeify and topstep are behind it when it comes to big payout.....

For me its simple .... 1:1 thats it if i aim to make 300$ per trade i put a stop loss of 300 as well.... That way never ever breached 30% rule. Plus never had to calculate or worry about it as well.......

NQ gives a lot of opportunities during one day. Sometimes I still fell the stress after last 1 or 2 years in forex and feel like that trade is the one trade, while after that, there are more and more and more to come. It goes up, down, breakouts, fake breakouts, continuations, reversals.. on and on. Kind of a trading party! I just have to keep this in mind!

I thought that I would take some time to share some insight regarding my experience with trading NQ, since some members have recently expressed some concern with the increased market volatility.

Some of these points, I have already shared before, and some of them are specifically relevant to the state of the current market. Many of these points can be applied to trading, in general, regardless of the instrument that you are trading.

1. Trade within a specific time-block and do not deviate from it.

For example, 8.30 CST to 9.00, 9.00 to 10.00, 10.00 to 12.00 and so forth.

In my experience, these time blocks trade differently (some, more-so than others). When you have different money moving the markets, you tend to get different results. As traders, we should aim to maximize consistency. I suspect that this is probably causing a lot of traders to fail, and they do not even realize why their strategy works sometimes and stops working at other times, so they end up jumping from one strategy to the next. The truth is, when you have different money moving the markets, the rules change. You have to become intimate with your time-block; learn its personality and what it best-responds to. Over time, you may be able to expand your trading to other time-blocks, but do not do so prematurely.

2. Use multiple time-frames.

For example, use higher time-frames to gauge market direction (or market 'potential') and then lower time-frames for entries and exits.

NQ responds really well to specific time-frames, but which ones will depend on which time-block you are trading (and the current volatility; always be ready to adapt). I will also say that NQ responds really well to indicators, especially during NY session.

3. Do not use predictive trading.

As much as possible, be a reactionary trader; do not try to predict where the market will ultimately go, and instead, let the market show you where it wants to go, and then just ride the waves.

This is especially true if you are a day trader, if you are trading the NY session and during higher-volatility phases etc.. This does not mean that you should not use higher time-frames to try to determine direction or potential; there is a difference.

(This one is hard to kick because I spent many years learning how to discern where the market will go, but I have learned that in the rare case that I am wrong, the lessons are severe. As such, it is better to not marry yourself to any idea, and instead, just let the market dictate. If I see that the market is likely to be bearish, then I may look primarily to short smaller movements instead of getting married to an idea and attempting to hold my position long-term. If I can minimize the amount of time that I am exposed to the market, the better.)

4. Be adaptive.

Be prepared to make adjustments to your trading when the market changes.

This is especially true during higher-volatility. There are a few ways to do this:
4a. Adjust position size.
4b. Adjust SL/TP.
4c. Switch to different time-frames (especially for entries/exits).


A few tips for trading NQ, NY session, specifically (some of which may not apply, depending on your trading):

1. The market often likes to retrace and bounce off of a notable area before making its primary move; don't get caught off guard.

2. During normal market phases, I generally use the 2-hour, 1-hour, 30-minute and so-forth for determining where the market is likely to go. However, during higher volatility, less-predictable phases, I throw that out the window and will typically use the 10-minute or similar as my highest time-frame, simply because the higher time-frames just aren't needed and will probably just frustrate you. Keep in mind, that these specifics only apply to me and that I am not a swing trader.

3. If I am using the 2-minute chart for my signal to enter, I will then drop down to the 20-second chart or similar for my actual entry. This is especially true during higher-volatility and can be the difference between getting stopped-out vs. having no draw-down.

4. If you usually trade the 1-minute chart or similar, and the moves become too dangerous or uncomfortable, consider checking out the seconds-based time-frames. You might be surprised by what you see. On the flip-side, during lower-volatility phases, these smaller time-frames may become mostly useless. Always be prepared to adapt to the current market conditions. Even if you do not use these smaller time-frames for entries, they can still be good for early-detection of direction changes and short-term sentiment.

As always, before trying anything new, allow ample time for testing before risking any meaningful capital. The aforementioned are just opinions and ideas based on my personal experience; always do your due diligence and trade at your own risk.

I could say more here, but much of what I would say would likely be more subjective and specific to my trading and may not apply to others. Some of you probably already know these things, especially the veteran traders, but hopefully it helps someone.

I do not think that you interpret 5:1 R/R rule right. I think it is about Average Win/Average Loss., not for every trade. That's why I do not use BE+1, but BE-1 if I move my sl to protect the position.
With this kind of strategy I got payout earlier this year. Took more than month because I got big DD at the start. These were the stats

i asked them about the 5:1 rule
it is about floating Sl/tp
if a trader continuosly open trades going drawdown , to close for few ticks less than 5:1 ratio, they will deny payout at best.
can happen of course some trades, maybe they have some % to check but this is not known.
of course, if you set SL 300ticks to target 20ticks, continuosly, that is not allowed too.
but let s say you have a default 300ticks SL/tp and always close trades less than 5:1 ratio, that is also not correct.

if this is true, that it means that you can not manage your positions effectively and this is the biggest BS. What about if news are coming, or market is closing, price is turning, momentum is fading, or you just changed your mind for whatever reason.
My trades lasts typically several minutes and always have SL/TP, but I do not hesitate to exit manually sometimes

for what I got, Apex is ok with some trades closed for few ticks.
they are not if all or almost all trades are not respecting at least the 5:1 ratio

in my last payout I had spme trades not respecting the ratio

Big payouts record is onething , yes.

But consider 30 % rules which Apex has. This is not there in Trdeify ot Topstep. My question is why this - 30 % rule ? To deny payouts ?

I would put Topstep and tradeify ahead of Apex.

But yes... apex offerings are so cheap sometimes. It is worth only that time.

So other than clownshow goat funded futures. Which other futures firms are to avoid due to payout problems?

i would anyway suggest to read and understand carefully the rules the prop requires
i only have Apex as experience atm and they denied me a payout, after checking i realized i breached some rules… it s pretty frustrating because when it happens, it is a matter of very few ticks usually

The ( - ) 30 % rule is unrealized floating loss or realized loss ?
