Great thread and something I've been looking into for a while. I've been trading for a good few years now and blown several small accounts. The problem always seems to be wanting to achieve faster and when a loss does occur the feeling to get the money back straight away used to be overwhelming.
These days I know I am using a method that will make me money if I only follow my rules but I am still bombarded with undisciplined thoughts from somewhere in my brain. I am getting better at overcoming these thoughts as I go along and I have actually made money for the last few months but I know I constantly need to be on my guard.
I think achieving success in trading is always going to be an ongoing process rather than a destination. One day, a few years down the line, I may start to think that I have reached my goal of beind a disciplined and succesful trader but for now I'm just happy to be on the journey and enjoying the ride.
Thanks to everyone who has posted on this thread so far and I hope it will continue to tick over slowly.
