Disliked{quote} Hi Luka This area on your chart appears to be very early after todays rollover (1hr20 candle by my reckoning, give or take a 5m candle or two). There were no Big Trading Centres open at the time relating to your pair. ie US and Canada were well closed by then, and the only Centres open in the Pacific were Wellington NZ first and then Sydney Aus an hour later it’s XMAS EVE mate and most of the big players I imagine will have closed their books now & be readying for some fun and NO trading. With low liquidity any order YOU put with your broker...Ignored
Disliked{quote} pretty.mucj everything you said is 100% correct I wouldn't even trade until like the 4th or 5th. Thats when all the news starts back up and the atr of the pairs will go back to where the were pre xmas and spreads go back down All the spread are about 4 times what they normally are on oanda and the atr is about 50% of what the 21 day average is for most currency pairs. I'm done testing for the year .happy holidays to all!! Hope to have a good 2022!Ignored
Disliked{quote} It was like 2 hours after day start, so its not that what you think, first time I sow something like that in that time of day (1:30 am and new Forex day start in 23:00 by my time zone). I know about Spread between 23:00 and 00:00 and that is Ok but in 01:30 hmmIgnored
DislikedIMHO Forex hasn't changed a lot, it just has less movement than the stock market or indices. I'm now (since 2021) trading a lot SPX (sometimes DOW and Nasdaq too). The trading conditions & leverage are quite the same as in FX, but the volatility or movement vs spread is 8-16 times higher. A quick comparison: https://abload.de/img/movementcomparisonh2jto.png {image} SPX moves so much during the US sessions, like 200-1000 "pips" up and down. When there is a lot of movement, there is also a lot of opportunity.Ignored
Disliked{quote} I would like to learn from your experience in trading forex and index and your knowledge of MT4/MT5 brokers. For scalping should I trade index futures or CFD? I am presently trading scalping futures and paying less than 1 pip /tick (for 2-way trading costs) . My scalping system is a semi-automated one and needs volatile pairs and lower trading costs. I have yet to find a CFD broker who can match fixed $ commissions charged by futures brokers. All of them inflate spreads to earn a commission. I have described my system in detail here: https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/...verse-retirees...Ignored
DislikedFrom this year July onwards. What works last year, does not work anymore now. I think the world economy is recovering from covid 19. Anyone feels the same?Ignored
DislikedMy EA backtested with 10 years of history. Worked excellent then and now too allready 1 year with real money. {image} Go here audited myfxbook results so far. [...] People do not understand how to use properly averaging/martingale/grid or anything "danger".Ignored
DislikedI've seen many systems that rely on this same approach. All of them, finally, blow the account. That's why I see this system as not promising. It lacks of smart trading logic and relies completely in one of the following two things:
- There is an unlimited balance in your account, or
- The market will always revert back to a previous price.
And both of them are not true. Neither a trader will have unlimited money nor the price will always revert back to a needed price.Ignored
DislikedI could not resist making this post. Not because I want to say "Told you so!", because it is painful to see someone lose $10,000, but as a warning to others reading this thread who might have believed the strong opinion of @gepards. {quote} He has been warned several times by @PaulMF and others: {quote} Yet, he insisted Martingale and Averaging Down strategies can be safe. As Paul predicted, time did tell: {image} Let this be a warning to new traders to stay away from Martingale and Averaging Down strategies. Their equity curves will look very tempting,...Ignored
